Boooooooooomer + (Results & Preview)

A pretty disappointing week for my trackers and to top it off after all my research Lady Bowthorpe was a non-runner. I had a small Lucky 15 on Fast And Free, Lady Bowthorpe, Striding Edge and It’s Good To Laugh. One to take out of the four was the Clive Cox trained Good To Laugh who was supported early morning and ran a nice race to finish second. I also got a late tracker through and the horse was Boomer who was given an entry for the Listed race at Ascot on Saturday. I couldn't believe the price when I got home and watched the replay on Thursday night. Despite running green Tom Dascombe filly ran on strong in what looked like a nice performance.

Timeform Early Decs with Preview:

17:45 Salisbury 27 Jul 2019:

Ethic looks like being the short-priced favourite at Salisbury but looking back at his debut at Newbury he deserves to be. This William Haggas trained Dark Angel colt was waited with at the back by K McEvoy until making his move and running on strong in the final furlong, it's just a pity he bumped into the well-touted Man Of The Night who looks to be going places for Richard Hannon this season.

15:45 York 27 Jul 2019:

Abstemious looks to be another short one on Saturday. Kevin Ryan has given this Mukhadram gelding a Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes entry. Backed in from 9/2 to 7/2 on debut at York, he was only collared close home by the Richard Hannon trained Oh Purple Reign. That's not bad form, to be honest, and he should have learned a lot from that debut

18:30 Lingfield 27 Jul 2019:

Cool Sphere is a 120,000 gns purchase for the Cool Silk Partnership. This Robert Cowell colt has run to a decent standard so far this season without winning. The danger looks to be the Richard Hannon filly Partridge who will be looking for her first win too. Partridge looks a nice filly and a price tag of 150,000 euros I would be expecting a win sooner rather than later for this Zoffany filly. The fact that Cool Sphere had been given a Group 3 Molecomb Stakes entry this week gives me hope he can finally get his head in front today.

13:50 Ascot 27 Jul 2019:

Hot favourite Summer Romance looks a difficult filly to oppose here. The Charlie Appleby Kingman filly has done everything right so far including an easy Listed race last timeout at Newmarket. I think the David Evans filly Good Vibes could be an each-way bet at 10/1. The Due Diligence filly comes here fresh and has looked a lovely prospect in all her three races so far. The last was her most impressive in the Langleys Solicitors British EBF Marygate Fillies' Stakes at York when staying on well to beat Mighty Spirit. The extra furlong shouldn't be a problem and hopefully, I can get some each-way value against the hot favourite Summer Romance.

14:20 Pontefract 28 July 2019:

Queen's Order makes her debut for Kevin Ryan. This bay filly is a daughter of Delegator out of a once-raced mare. She cost 50,000 euros at the yearling sales and races in the familiar silks of Clipper Logistics. A Lowther Stakes (Group 2) entry adds to the opinion this April foal has both a reputation and ability.

The Saturday Trixie:

All to play for this week with Sam in the lead after having a 2/1 winner the other week (laughing to myself as I wrote that because that’s how bad the selections have been this month).

Aaron: Ascot 3:00 - Rip Orf: Slowly dropping down in the ratings but does seem to like Ascot with some decent form figures, including 2 wins over course and distance his last win coming off of 92, (Currently 93 rated) as well as finishing 3 in this race last year, he shouldn't be missing out on a place (10/1 Skybet, first 6)(Each Way)

Sam: 15:15 York 27 Jul 2019 - Addeybb: 3:15 York - With heavy rain forecast throughout the day it will definitely suit impressive Royal Ascot winner ADDEYABB. He comfortably won the Wolferton and with the man of the moment Danny Tudhooe on board he should take all the beating. (Bet365 3/1)(Win)

Craig: 14:10 Newcastle 27 Jul 2019: Morisco: The Tom Dascombe Requinto colt made a promising debut at Sandown 22 days ago. Sent off 50/1 that day he was slowly away and ran green. Hopefully some market support tomorrow will give me a bit more confidence that Morisco should at least grab a place. (8/1 Each Way).

Thanks for reading and good luck.

Thank you very much for 10,000 Views (Plus Reviews and Previews)

When I started my blog just before the new Flat season I would have been happy with a few hundred views by this time but this week I reached 10,000 plus and I can't believe it to be honest. I would like to thank everybody who has taken the time to read and hopefully I have pointed out a few nice horses along the way. It hasn't all been plain sailing of course with some losers too but I have noted a few nice priced winners including Threat, Fred, Misty Grey and Good Vibes which have made it a season to remember for me with still a few months left.

Timeform Dec Reviews

Well Of Wisdom (Pictured) won well for the trackers last Sunday. I had a winning bet on this Charlie Appleby colt and couldn't believe the 3/1 he ended up. Well Of Wisdom looks a nice colt and ran a decent race in Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. One thing I have to admit is that I was watching Liverpool on the TV and also trying to watch the race on my chrome book and for some reason, I thought Well Of Wisdom got beat and Saqqara King won, that’s when you know you need to take a trip to Specsavers.

Fleeting Prince had been given a Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes entry after his debut run at Chepstow. He was quickly out the stalls at Windsor on Monday and made all to win easily. The price of 11/8 was decent but no bet for me.

Cool Sphere ran a decent enough race to finish second but another no bet for me.

WELL OF WISDOM 3/1 1ST
FLEETING PRINCE 11/10 1ST
Cool Sphere Evens 2nd

Timeform Early Declaration:

18:05 Yarmouth 17 Jul 2019:

Kassab made a pleasing enough debut when finishing fifth in a fair event here on July 4th. This Peter Chappel-Hyam colt was an 85,000 gns purchase in April and will have to improve to trouble the market principles here. One positive is he has a Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes entry. No bet for me

14:40 Lingfield 17 Jul 2019:

Dark Lady made a pleasing debut when second to the very well-thought of Archie Watson filly So Sharp. This Richard Hannon Dark Angel filly looked a future winner going into many notebooks that day. Short at the time of writing so not sure what to do yet.

14:40 Lingfield 17 Jul 2019:

Depose. Kingman filly for Hugo Palmer, a bit of a worry hood first time. No bet for me.

15:00 Chepstow 18 Jul 2019:

Above. I imagine is one of Archie Watsons best 2-year-olds and to give away so much weight will have to be on top of his game. A 150,000 euro purchase for owners Qatar Racing Limited, Above has been given a few decent entries and hopefully, he can confirm his promise on Thursday. I imagine he won't be much of a price so another I might just watch instead of betting on.

15:00 Chepstow 18 Jul 2019:

Above won't have it all his own way because my second tracker in this race Swinley Forest has run two decent efforts himself. Thanks for reading and good luck.

The English Fillies Contenders Royal Ascot 2019 (Plus The Saturday Trixie)

In my earlier posts this week I wrote about the Godolphin and the Irish fillies heading to Royal Ascot this year. Now I think it's time to see what firepower we have to offer because to be honest, we have won the Queen Mary Stakes the last two years and the Albany Stakes in 2018 and won’t be giving up our title without a dam good fight. Here are just a few nice fillies that will be in with a shout of taking home the decent prize money on offer.

Good Vibes for David Evans brings the solid form to the table. This Due Diligence filly was bought by Paul and Clare Rooney for £35.000, which looks like a bargain at the minute. She's had three runs already this season and won twice, her latest run in the Langleys Solicitors British EBF Marygate Fillies' Stakes at York was her most impressive, she was nibbled at that day from 12/1 to 10/1 and came with a strong late run to beat Mighty Spirit by one and a half lengths. Looks a nice strong type.

Current RPR 100 (8/1 BO Queen Mary Stakes)

Flippa The Strippa for the Charlie Hills yard. This Outstrip filly looks to be the bargain of the season so far, purchased by owner Christopher Wright last September for £10,000 she has already paid her fee back when winning the £17,000 National Stakes at Sandown in May. The form looks decent enough with the 91 rated Mark Johnston filly Jm Jackson in second place.

Current RPR 95 ( 16/1 BO Queen Mary Stakes)

Raffle Prize for the Mark Johnston yard. This Godolphin bred Slade Power filly looks to have plenty of speed to burn. Her only two races this season have been over six furlongs. Her second race at Chester seen her start off like a bat out of hell, you would 've thought she would tire but seemed to change legs and drew further clear, the form of that race doesn't look much, but she couldn't have been more impressive.

Current RPR 88 ( 20/1 BO Queen Mary Stakes, 16/1 BO Albany Stakes)

Daahyeh for the Roger Varian yard. This Bated Breath filly cost £75,000 and couldn't have been more impressive on her debut run. The well-backed 3/1 joint-favourite was held up by David Egan in midfield before putting the race to bed inside the last furlong. The second Raffle Prize went onto win a Class 2 at Chester next time out. Daahyeh looks a nice filly, and I am looking forward to seeing how much she improves in this season.

Current RPR 85 (20/1 BO Albany Stakes)

LIberty Beach for the John Quinn yard who won the Queen Mary Stakes last year with Signora Cabello. This Cable Bay filly is another bargain at £16,000. Winner of her two races this season, the latest was the Hilary Needler Trophy Fillies' Conditions Stakes at Beverley last week. Not one to be ruled out despite the big price.

Current RPR 84 (25/1 BO Queen Mary Stakes, 20/1 BO Windsor Castle)

These are just a handful of the English fillies on show at Royal Ascot this year. I know there is also a few potentially very good 2-year-olds that I haven't even mentioned here, plus the Ward speed machines from the other side of the pond that won't be coming over here to just make up the numbers. Overall the fillies races look top class this year and I for one can't wait. I will be reviewing my trackers in my next post as time is running out and the bed is calling.

Tracker:

16:05 York 15 Jun 2019: Historic for the S Bin Suroor yard. Ran a pleasing debut last month when backed from 10/1 to 6/1 before the off. This Shamardal homebred colt has been given a 6f Keeneland Phoenix Stakes (Group 1) (Entire Colts & Fillies) (2yo) and will hopefully show an improved performance today with that experience under his belt.

The Saturday Trixie:

Week 3

Aaron: Loch Ness Monster - 3.15 Sandown, Brings some good early season form into this race, when finishing 3rd over course and distance a couple of runs back, never had much of a chance last time after being hampered early, gets in off bottom weight with Cieren Fallon claiming 7lb lively each way chance , (8/1)

Sam: 2:35 Sandown - Fantasy Keeper. Drop back in trip might not suit but is the clear form pick in what looks a week handicap. SDS on board again as the pair look to go 1 better than last time out! 15/8 bet365.

Craig: 14.10 Chester - Know No Limits. With no trackers, this weekend worth betting on it’s a tough call but Know No Limits has a nice draw in stall 2 (Lexi the One is in stall 1 but been slowly away last 3 races). I will be hoping Kingscote can get her out quickly and hang on for dear life. Not a confident selection but I will take 5/1 each way.

Good luck and thanks for reading.

Keep the (Sea Of Faith ) (Plus Reviews, Previews and Tips)

Only one week to go until I run my marathon, it’s time to rest and review a few 2-year-old races and hopefully, find a couple of future winners. As I have said before my 2-year-old betting season is like a marathon, start off easy and finish strong. As the flat season starts, trainers and owners are dreaming of Royal Ascot and it’s really difficult finding winners with all the top yards sending out what they think could be future stars, so take a step back enjoy the racing and wait for the right moment, hopefully a few of my trackers will help me unearth a winner or two in the weeks and months ahead.

Timeform Early Declaration Alert Reviews

Before I start to preview a great days racing and a few interesting horses am really looking forward to seeing I will take a minute to mention a couple of winning trackers that I noted in my last post and could turn out to be really nice horses to follow this season.

Richard Hannon trained Kemble was on my radar after receiving an early Class 2 entry but didn't run, he was fancied on his first run when opened up 9/2 and backed into 7/2 on the off, and ran a satisfactory debut to finish third, forward on to Monday in what looked a nice race he was 7/2 and fancied again but with only seven running it was a disappointment for me as I would have done a each way bet at 4/1. Kemble put in a much-improved run when demolishing what looked a decent enough field with the well-fancied Illusionist 5-lengths behind and looks like he could be aimed towards Royal Ascot.

Another tracker was the Archie Watson trained Execlusive who was backed from 5/2 into 13/8 favourite and punters were counting their winnings over one furlong out. Execlusive looks another who will be aimed at better class races this season, that’s an incredible eight first time-out winners for Archie Watson this season compared with only two first time-out winners he had in April/May 2018.

Last but not least was a tracker that I didn’t have in my last post as it hadn’t come through at that time, but I was keeping a close eye on Good Vibes, (Pictured) the David Evans trained 2-year-old who was being nibbled at throughout the morning and I must admit I can’t take all the credit for backing this Due Diligence filly as I saw Jason give her a good write up on his Group Horse Daily page, so I had an each way at 11/1, and she ran on very well and looks a horse going places this season.

Previews

14:05 Newmarket 18 May 2019

Al Hilalee had two runs last season and two wins. Last season he was entered to run in numerous group races including the Group 2 Champagne Stakes, Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes, Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes, Group 3 Acomb Stakes and the Listed Dragon Stakes, so as you can see he was definitely well-thought of and beat a few experienced group performers in France. I fancied him to run well in the 2000 Guineas but was never involved, needs to bounce back after a poor showing last time out.

13.50 Newbury 18 May 2019

Khaadem looks a nice prospect after making his debut in a hot Novice race back in June last season and finishing third to the exciting Calyx. Winning his next two races he looks to be a horse going places. He was entered in two decent Group races as a 2-year-old, Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes was the first and the Group 1 Middle Stakes was the next but never ran in both. I will be interested to see if he can step up another level this season against some decent Group performers.

16.50 Newbury 18 May 2019

Sea Of Faith must of went into plenty of notebooks after an eye-catching debut last month. This William Haggas trained Sea the Stars filly was backed late on from 8/1 to 4/1 and ran a great race, despite a very slow start and looking green she came with a late rattle to finish fourth to Sparkle Roll in what was an encouraging first run. This looks a decent race but William will be hoping to repeat winning this race again after the excellent Sea Of Class won last year.

Timeform Early Declaration Alert

15:50 Newmarket 18 May 2019: Willa had an early entry for a Class 2 race in April but never ran.

14:10 Thirsk 18 May 2019: Jaunty had an early entry for a Class 2 race in April but never ran.

14:00 Ripon 19 May 2019 : Don’t Joke ran in a Class 2 at Bath.

14:00 Ripon 19 May 2019: Misty Grey had an early entry for the Class 2 Lilly Agnes at Chester but never ran also another Class 2 race at Chester and also missed that.

14:00 Ripon 19 May 2019: Oso Rapido had an early entry for a Class 2 at York but never ran.

The Saturday Trixie:

Week 4 If you haven’t seen any of my posts this is a bit of fun with a couple of my mates off social media to see who is the top tipster and at the minute Aaron leads the way. Aaron: Benie Des Dieux - 4:00 Auteuil, top class mare, would of won back to backs mares hurdles at Cheltenham barring a last flight fall, bounced back from that impressively winning by over 9 lengths at Punchestown, only worries would be if she stays out 3m having never been past 2m4f but if she does she will go close against a very good mare in De Bon Couer who won this race last year

Kurious - 1:50 Newbury was staying on in a class 2 last time and Sandown when just failing. The step up in trip will suit and there should be plenty of improvement to come especially now back in handicap company. Adv 8/1 (bet365)

Craig: Sea of Faith - 4.50 Newbury. (reasons for selection above)

Good luck and thanks for reading.
