The Goodwood And Galway Trixie (Wednesday)

All selections placed last week and two winners on Tuesday, yes short prices I know but Pinatubo and Cobra Eye (Pictured) both done the buisness for us and hopefully we can get a treble up soon. 

15:00 Goodwood 31 Jul 2019 

Wesley Ward runs MAVEN with the Legend Frankie Dettori on. Two runs and two wins you can't ask more than that. Made 4/9 favourite for his debut at Aqueduct in April, Maven held on to win by under a length. The American Pharoah colt showed his class next timeout when winning the Group 3 race at Chantilly with Group performer Jolie in second place. That looks good form and Maven was entered to run in the Windsor Castle Stakes and the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot but didn't run because of the soft going. A leading player for the American trainer and will be my selection (3/1). Air force Jet runs for Joseph O’Brien. Homebred Charm spirit colt who has run some decent races already this season. Second to Strive For Glory in a Listed race last timeout at Tipperary. Might be a step too far but should run his race. Alligator Alley is another for Joseph. 100,000 gns Kingman colt who was most impressive in his last run at Navan. Will have to improve again to trouble the market principles here. Aussie Showstopper done everything wrong last timeout when finishing sixth to Liberty Beach, could be a lively outsider here. Cool Sphere looks out of his depth here. French challenger Fan Club Rules looks a nice horse but will have to reverse form with Maven to be in with a chance. Raahy another nice colt who has also ran some nice races this season but in my opinion could fall short here. Brocklesby winner Show Me Show Me another who has ran at a decent level and was unlucky to get beat last strides in the Super Sprint the other week. Zulu Zander looks outclassed here. Dr Simpson was impressive at Chester last timeout when winning by seven lengths. Has a few nice entries to be honest and could be anything. Hasn't raced at top-class level so market check needed. I did like Hand On My Hearts debut at Windsor in June. The Clive Cox trained Iffraaj colt was purchased by Hot To Trot racing for 150,000 gns. He beat some experienced rivals that day and looked professional and could get placed. Liberty Beach is, of course, the one to beat with the best form brought to the table including the Listed Dragon Stakes at Sandown last timeout. The short price against some potentially nice horses means I will be looking elsewhere. 

Sam: 2:25 Goodwood - 

DURSTON overcame trouble last time out at Chester to swoop late on to take the prize. He’s 2-2 in handicaps and there is no reason why he shouldn’t compete the hat trick. Jamie Spencer takes the ride and we all know what a master he is at delivering a challenge late on. Bet365 7/1 

Aaron: SO LONELY - 6:10 Galway: she’s won 3 of her last 4 starts just under 2m, could have more progression in her up 6lb and up in class (12/1 first 5 Paddy Power) Good Luck and thanks for reading.

Friday To Forget (Plus Reviews, Previews And Tips)

I love the Friday feeling when you finish work early and you can look forward to the weekend racing. Well, that Friday feeling can soon disappear, I can tell you. Before the weekend I still had a couple of bets left to run. It started off well really when I had Liberty Beach to win the Dragon Stakes at Sandown. How Impressive was that as she sprinted clear like a class filly.

Next, I got a tip off my next door neighbour and couldn’t be arsed going back the bookies and of course it wins 14/1, Enough Said was the name of the horse, is that just taking the piss or what haha. 

In the meantime, I had an each way double with Living In The Past and my tracker Top Class Angel. Living In The Past beat my other tracker Mighty Spirit and looks a nice type for Karl Burke. I also had an each way single on Top Class Angel and took 7/1 early on. 

Now am not one for slagging off jockeys but that was a terrible ride by Dobbs who got stuck behind the whole field and couldn’t get out until the winner had well-flown. 

Top Class Angel is much better than that and I will keep her in my trackers for now. 

Even though our results table doesn't look too good, I still enjoyed doing the Royal Ascot Trixie each day with Aaron and Sam. We had some success but this month has to be better. June saw me take the crown off Aaron with a small profit for the month. Hopefully, I can keep it for good. A new month and we go again. I hope we can get a few more winners or the Saturday Trixie could be doomed and put in the bin with Sam quickly Following.

Aaron: First Eleven - Haydock 3:15, comes into this race after a narrow win at York, where the form has worked out rather well, he’s up 5lb from that and has to concede chunks of weight but I feel he could be the old group horse in a handicap, (3/1) Win Bet. 

Sam: Mind The Crack - 14:05 Haydock 06 Jul 2019(No Write-up) Win Bet. (7/2) 

Craig: Dorchester Dom -14:30 Leicester 06 Jul 2019, Not much of interest tomorrow so I will stick with the Dom(9/4) Win Bet. 

Timeform Early Declaration Alert With Preview:

I can’t believe how many trackers came through for Saturdays racing and then I noticed the Nursery races have started. Am not to keen on these types of races so I won’t be putting them up. I have a couple more trackers that I will preview but nothing too strong. 

14:30 Leicester 06 Jul 2019: Dorchester Dom ran a race full of promise in the Brocklesby at Doncaster. This David Evans Starspangledbanner gelding was nibbled at on debut when backed in from 50/1 to 33/1 at the off. Up with the pace for most of the race he was slightly hampered at the furlong pole before running on again at the finish. The extra furlong should suit and I expect a more professional performance since being gelded, the only worry is the 98 day lay off. (9/4) 

18:10 Nottingham 06 Jul 2019: Dana Forever is a newcomer by Requinto and trained by Tom Dascombe. Sister to the useful Kevin Ryan filly Broken Stones who won on her debut in 2016. Tom Dascombe thinks a bit of this filly and will have to be pretty useful with nice newcomers in this hot little Novice race and also running is the Archie Watson filly Exclusively who was outclassed at Royal Ascot. She has the experience already but has to shoulder a win penalty. I will wait to see how the betting settles before deciding to bet or not. (7/1) Thanks for reading and good luck.

The English Fillies Contenders Royal Ascot 2019 (Plus The Saturday Trixie)

In my earlier posts this week I wrote about the Godolphin and the Irish fillies heading to Royal Ascot this year. Now I think it's time to see what firepower we have to offer because to be honest, we have won the Queen Mary Stakes the last two years and the Albany Stakes in 2018 and won’t be giving up our title without a dam good fight. Here are just a few nice fillies that will be in with a shout of taking home the decent prize money on offer. 

Good Vibes for David Evans brings the solid form to the table. This Due Diligence filly was bought by Paul and Clare Rooney for £35.000, which looks like a bargain at the minute. She's had three runs already this season and won twice, her latest run in the Langleys Solicitors British EBF Marygate Fillies' Stakes at York was her most impressive, she was nibbled at that day from 12/1 to 10/1 and came with a strong late run to beat Mighty Spirit by one and a half lengths. Looks a nice strong type. 

Current RPR 100 (8/1 BO Queen Mary Stakes) 

Flippa The Strippa for the Charlie Hills yard. This Outstrip filly looks to be the bargain of the season so far, purchased by owner Christopher Wright last September for £10,000 she has already paid her fee back when winning the £17,000 National Stakes at Sandown in May. The form looks decent enough with the 91 rated Mark Johnston filly Jm Jackson in second place. 

Current RPR 95 ( 16/1 BO Queen Mary Stakes) 

Raffle Prize for the Mark Johnston yard. This Godolphin bred Slade Power filly looks to have plenty of speed to burn. Her only two races this season have been over six furlongs. Her second race at Chester seen her start off like a bat out of hell, you would 've thought she would tire but seemed to change legs and drew further clear, the form of that race doesn't look much, but she couldn't have been more impressive. 

Current RPR 88 ( 20/1 BO Queen Mary Stakes, 16/1 BO Albany Stakes) 

Daahyeh for the Roger Varian yard. This Bated Breath filly cost £75,000 and couldn't have been more impressive on her debut run. The well-backed 3/1 joint-favourite was held up by David Egan in midfield before putting the race to bed inside the last furlong. The second Raffle Prize went onto win a Class 2 at Chester next time out. Daahyeh looks a nice filly, and I am looking forward to seeing how much she improves in this season. 

Current RPR 85 (20/1 BO Albany Stakes)

LIberty Beach for the John Quinn yard who won the Queen Mary Stakes last year with Signora Cabello. This Cable Bay filly is another bargain at £16,000. Winner of her two races this season, the latest was the Hilary Needler Trophy Fillies' Conditions Stakes at Beverley last week. Not one to be ruled out despite the big price.

Current RPR 84 (25/1 BO Queen Mary Stakes, 20/1 BO Windsor Castle)

These are just a handful of the English fillies on show at Royal Ascot this year. I know there is also a few potentially very good 2-year-olds that I haven't even mentioned here, plus the Ward speed machines from the other side of the pond that won't be coming over here to just make up the numbers. Overall the fillies races look top class this year and I for one can't wait. I will be reviewing my trackers in my next post as time is running out and the bed is calling. 

Tracker: 

16:05 York 15 Jun 2019: Historic for the S Bin Suroor yard. Ran a pleasing debut last month when backed from 10/1 to 6/1 before the off. This Shamardal homebred colt has been given a 6f Keeneland Phoenix Stakes (Group 1) (Entire Colts & Fillies) (2yo) and will hopefully show an improved performance today with that experience under his belt.

The Saturday Trixie: 

Week 3 

Aaron: Loch Ness Monster - 3.15 Sandown, Brings some good early season form into this race, when finishing 3rd over course and distance a couple of runs back, never had much of a chance last time after being hampered early, gets in off bottom weight with Cieren Fallon claiming 7lb lively each way chance , (8/1) 

Sam: 2:35 Sandown - Fantasy Keeper. Drop back in trip might not suit but is the clear form pick in what looks a week handicap. SDS on board again as the pair look to go 1 better than last time out! 15/8 bet365. 

Craig: 14.10 Chester - Know No Limits. With no trackers, this weekend worth betting on it’s a tough call but Know No Limits has a nice draw in stall 2 (Lexi the One is in stall 1 but been slowly away last 3 races). I will be hoping Kingscote can get her out quickly and hang on for dear life. Not a confident selection but I will take 5/1 each way.
