Wednesday's 2yo Horse Racing (19th July)

Monday didn't quite go to plan as I ditched my own trackers and ended up losing.

The 17.40 at Windsor was a walk over for Watch My Tracer who won like a odds on should. I chanced an each way on David Evans newcomer Red Chatan who despite being up with the pace faded into fifth, one newcomer I mentioned was Ever Driven who stayed on to finish fourth, could be a race for Ever Driven soon. My other tracker Magic Light finished second.

One tracker in the 18.10 was Piz Nair who actually touched 4/1 at one stage, the George Scott colt won well despite drifting across the track, as for Ikhtiary he got bumped and faded towards the back, a pretty disappointing effort from the Tom Clover colt.

18.10 Yarmouth 19 July

Trackers: Red Zone Hero, Seven Questions, Etoile D'Alexandre.

Looks like a decent race with a bit of everything, three trackers, one has to win right?

Bibendum runs for John & Thady Gosden here. 260,000 euro purchase. Related to Luxor who won a couple for William Haggas. Owners have a 3yo filly trained by John and Thady called Liftoff who won Sto as a 2yo. Decent strike rate at Yarmouth and one I'm looking forward to seeing. First time tongue tie.

Cloud King for Robert Cowell. 100,000 gns purchase for familiar owner Mrs Fitri Hay. Few nice types on the dam side. Trainer doesn't get many fto winners, would need support or a watching brief for me.

Midnight Force for Darryll Holland, bit of experience here with the Land Force colt already having two runs, big prices both times. Did show improvement last timeout here when finishing strongly.

Our Bank for Archie Watson. 125,000 gns purchase. Dam unraced but comes from a nice family including a few 100 plus rated horses including Huraiz who was trained by Mark Johnston and won fto back in 2019.

Red Zone Hero for Michael Bell. 60,000 gns yearling and 100,000 euro breeze-up purchase for the Middleham Park Racing team. Related to Son Of Rest, a nice type who won the Ayr Gold Cup. Made a nice enough debut at Windsor last month when slowly away then struggling to find a gap before running on.

Looks like the type to improve and been given a nice entry.

Seven Questions for George Scott. £58,000 purchase. Related to the Karl Burke trained Boogie Time who won sto. Two runs already and just failed to hang on last timeout when beaten a neck by Cuban Secret. Looks like a type to get a win sooner rather than later.

Stanley Spencer for James Tate. £50,000 purchase, another with a nice pedigree being by Marsh Hawk and related to a couple of 100 plus rated Hannon horses, Trillium and Mohawk King both nice types. Slowly away on debut and behind until making steady progress and not given a hard time.

Zaman Daar for Ismail Mohammed. 70,000 gns purchase. Related to the Richard Hannon 117 RPR Oh This Is Us, none of the other siblings have set the world alight. Zaman Daar's debut wasn't too bad when not given a hard time by Murphy, news to improve.

Etoile D'Alexandre for Declan Carroll. 78,000 gns purchase. Third last timeout at Chester when favourite. Buick in the hot seat sure to make a good account of herself, only filly in the field.

Conclusion:

Not sure 🤣. I was looking at Red Zone Hero but the more I look at Stanley Spencer the more I like, decent pedigree, decent debut. Anything over tens would normally be a negative but this looks a decent field and could be outside. Gosden does well here, really tough but I'll stick an each way on Stanley Spencer.

Good luck and thanks for reading.
