New month and fresh optimism for me anyway, pretty sure the trackers will hit form sooner rather than later.
The Charlie Johnston grey filly CHINA TRADE has popped up in my evening trackers, a closer look and she comes from a lovely family being a half-sister to a couple of 100+ rated horses previously trained by now retired Mark Johnston. Misty Grey won sto as 2yo and went on to finish third to Pinatubo in the Woodcote. The Trader also won sto as a 2yo, both made all. China Trade was sent off 6/1 on debut at Haydock and seemed to run in snatches, never nearer to challenge the grey stayed on without threatening, by hopefully a more clued up China Trade will see her get into the places at least. Ferrari Queen won this race last year for Charlie & Mark Johnston. Alshinfarah comes from a good family and is worth noting. Bet 365 offered 15/2 about China Trade so I've chanced an each way.

530 LING - MYSTERIOUS MAESTRO’s last run caught the eye of many and warranted a closer look. Dropped in from a wide draw, he travelled nicely and it was not until beginning the turn that Billy Loughnane asked for a finishing effort that showed promise. Forgiving the previous run (turf) and looking at first time up this year, you see a solid run behind Totnes that stands up at this level and also a more positive ride showing there is a potential to employ a variety of tactics regarding pace / position. Stepping up in trip again is an unknown but Judged on LTO could well suit. The other interesting runner here is Bush Rose; Roger Varian’s representative steps up markedly in trip and the trainer has good stats for 1st time HCP and also 1st time hood application. GL GL !!!! 🍀🤞🍀🤞🍀.

15.07 Chester ABSOLUTELYFLAWLESS
Available at some respectable prices from an each way perspective. She has run really well on her two visits to the course this season and has also previously won at the course. The first time she just failed to reel in Radio Goo Goo over this course and distance, the subsequent C2 winner who had the run of the race.
Last time out, she came back here and over 5f and missed the beat a little from the start and found herself on the backfoot. She comes home well and is not beaten far considering and kept on well enough to suggest she is in some form still. The winner has since come out and won a decent C2 event and the fourth has since finished close up in another C2.
She runs off the same mark here as the second behind Radio Goo Goo and has a handy draw in three here, also the step back up to 6f should be much more suitable this time and we know she acts well at the course. She has won on good to soft, so the conditions will not faze her and she has been noted as flopping on quicker ground, such as when well beaten at Haydock on penultimate run.
She runs for the first time in an open handicap here and is only due to carry 8st4lb with the rider's claim taken into account. There is plenty of pace in here and that will be of no concern as she has been held up for a run when winning or performing at her best and can take a keen hold so that is beneficial. Hopefully she can tag onto them early doors and turn in not too far away from her handy draw and kick when it matters off this paperweight.

8.15 Lingfield: Nibras Rainbow
Nibras Rainbow seems difficult to catch as he couldn't follow on from an eyecatching run at track when last seen at Wetherby. I felt he had excuses that day, though. Heavily bumped soon after the start, he lost his balance, was lit up, and used up energy to get moving forward. He was beaten early enough, nonetheless.....
I have to go back to his penultimate effort over the extended seven furlongs here at Lingfield four weeks ago. A strong run and excellent form:
He was slowly away from a wide draw, rushed forward on outside before crossing over to lead the field. Was then still going well two furlongs from before being heavily challenged. He was seriously gutsy to stay in front for as long as he did.
Nibras Rainbow ran a career-best speed rating that day, in line with his current mark. Can he repeat the effort today, and may find a bit more? A decent start, from the #6 draw, could ensure that.
This is a wide open contest in my view. The favourite may improve again, but has to for the return to turf. He's yet to impress on speed ratings, so worth taking on. Nibras Rainbow is drifting in the betting this morning. But I feel he's moving out to a huge price, if here to runs on merit.
