Thursday's 2yo Racing Tips (6th October)

1:50 Ayr - 

Heavy ground soft in places is never the best starting point for a bet. Radetsky Marsch has a class 2 stakes entry and ran well on debut when nibbled in the market. No real value but respected. Eastvan ran well on debut in testing conditions for Lucinda Russell who isn't the first name which comes to mind for two-year-old horses. May have something going for it but always slightly concerned this horse was flattered. At the odds I would rather watch and see how this gelding fares today.Mark Johnston fields Muir Woods. Would hold greater claims if priced 9/2 and less sp. Interesting that The Renegade was a high stat horse last time when disappointing. May have a chance at big odds but needs to come back. Definitely ran flat last time and may just have some value but a shot in the dark although slight concerns the jockey booking is a negative. 

5:00 Chelmsford - 

Radio Goo Goo is a good looking colt and been kept busy. Six races and second three starts. Dropping to a banded race, this looks to be a drop in class. After so many races you have to fear he may regress at some point and probably price to chance but a horse that deserves a win and won't lack for trying. Dakota Elegance put up a brave show last time out from a wide draw and did well to make the frame. No doubt connections are hoping this drop to the minimum trip will help. There's always a chance he will find the pace of five to six furlongs a task but a horse which tries and will have stamina on side if its a grind. Sabah Al Ward ran a fair race on debut when a little keen. Hughes can go well on second start and has fair claims if 13/2 and less sp. Perhaps on form has something to prove against Radio Goo Goo but may improve for the debut run. Florida Filly has progressed well and faced listed class. Has a big penalty but a prime draw may try and lead all the way. In truth, a tricky looking race and not too much value. 

5:30 Chelmsford - 

A small field. She's Hot makes her return after tasting success at Ffos Las. Has to shoulder a penalty and I doubt any value at odds on. Lady Lavina managed to gain a win after looking very unreliable. Not a horse I would want to bet although the odds are fair. This is a good month for Marco Botti debut winners and Sexy Rexy could go well. Would have fair stats if 7/2 and less sp. A trainer who can be hit and miss and more likely to be placed than win but one of the few with a chance of beating the favourite.
