Monday's 2yo Racing Tips (31st October)

3:38 Kempton -

Looks a competitive heat. Mr Buster has a couple of class 2 stakes entries and was fancied on debut. The winner shot clear while the Valmont-owned juvenile ran a satisfactory race. A nice looking horse who could show more today. Has fair stats but most likely price to chance. William Haggas had a nice debut winner at Newmarket (said he didn't think it would win) and he fields Amleto here. An expensive yearling purchase out of a twice-winning mare. Haggas can be very hit and miss on debut and a wide draw won't help. To be fair he doesn't seem to have the greatest hopes unless 6/4 and less sp. However, he can go well but always a touch of the unknown. Village Legend was a big price on debut but nibbled in the market. The form of that race has been franked and I can see this colt running well. Didn't cost a fortune but holds a group entry and wasn't pressed on debut. Will improve for this step up in distance. Has ew claims but still something to prove and a potentially competitive race. Another trainer who goes very well this month is John Gosden's Lion Tamer. Has a class 2 stakes entry. The stable have been in flying form this month and has claims. Roarin' Success would have very high stats if backed (9/1 and less sp). It is worth noting those at speculative price if there is money which may bring some hope.

4:55 Wolverhampton -

Lulworth Cove ran ok last time behind an easy winner. Was relatively fancied that day but did look a race which fell apart. Not sure if I would want to bet at relatively short odds although a straightforward looking horse. James Horton has been somewhat disappointing this year with his two-year-olds who have missing the mark. Martini Nights ran well on debut when a touch outpaced but ran on well. A decent race. Next time far too keen when stepping up in distance. Not been seen for 55 days. Interesting to see how she goes. Could be slightly outpaced and run on at the line. Wouldn't want to be keen again. At the odds probably no value. Calluna has fair stats if priced 13/2 and less sp. Difficult to assess French raced Lasting Impression but interesting with Archie Watson. Rhythmic Acclaim has been backed. P J McBride doesn't win many races on debut. Interesting to see how David Loughnane's My Delilah goes for David Lowe. Always an owner-trainer combination worth noting. Has fair stats at 10/1 and less sp. On balance, a difficult race to assess.
