And we're off! Winners and Losers 2022

Cheltenham is finally out of the way and I am going to start by making a bold statement here and say I will be mentioning a few unraced 2-year-old horses that will run in Group Races before the end of the season. 

You might be thinking who does this fella think he is but after working with two-year-old expert Jason Coote over the years I'm hopeful that this year will be another successful one for the blog. Identifying the best 2yos in the business is what makes craigsbettingblog one step ahead of the rest. If you look back through the previous seasons posts you will see what I mean. 

I won't be giving tips, just my thoughts and bets throughout the season: winners or losers. I will do my best to put them up on my Twitter page or I will write a post detailing them before they race, no messing about every bet I have will go up. If you would like to follow them feel free but only bet what you can afford and keep a little betting bank so you don't end up using the rent or mortgage money. 

I've already had a few bets and posted them on my Twitter page as I haven't had time to do a post, let me go through them. 

First one was a bit of an after timer to be honest as I didn't get time to post it before.

2nd March: ADELAISE won for Martyn Meade second timeout at Kempton at the beginning of the month, I can't say this was skill to be honest it was more of a gut feeling. Martyn Meade has some lovely horses in his yard and despite not doing much on debut the Lawman filly opened up 4/1. I normally think about a bet but this time a win bet straight on the nose, she drifted to 11/2 and won nicely. ✅ 

3rd March: Alvediston was very well thought of last year by William Haggas, I was pretty sure I would see an improved performance in handicap company at Newcastle. I'm not one for betting on handicaps to be honest but surely Alvediston would be too good here. A straight win bet again and then the dreaded slow start. The New Bay filly made headway but couldn't land a blow and finished third, I hate win bets. ❎ 

11th March: Counterattack for James Tate. I did say I wasn't doing debutantes but I couldn't resist a small each way here as the Frankel colt was well thought of by James last season. I didn't go mad to be honest and glad I didn't as he ran no sort of race, the 17/2 has to be better hasn't he? ❎ 

12th March: Killearn for Charlie Hills. I made a right cock up here that I'm still trying to get over. First Killearn has already run three times so I should have left alone, the next cock up is depressing, for some reason I deleted a few trackers I shouldn't have last year and Dayman was one who won this race easily at 10s, heartbreaking to say the least. Killearn was disappointing and another out the trackers. ❎ 

17th March: INGRA TOR for Mick Channon. It didn't take long for me to get Dayman out of my mind as Ingra Tor romped home at Southwell. Only raced once as a 2yo and was well supported that day even though the Churchill colt faded quickly. Dropped in trip today jockey Charlie Bishop rode a peach of ride settling him in before making headway 2f out then hitting the button and staying on well. I took 9s the night before and Ingra Tor ended 11/2. Each way landed, get in! ✅ 

17th March: Alvediston for William Haggas, less said the better as I went again with an each way bet, Alvediston looks to be regressing, ffs Craig cmon! ❎ 

An 11/2 win bet and a 9/1 each way starts this year's bets on the right note, just need to learn from my mistakes. Lesson one no more debut horses and lesson two after three runs leave alone.
