9 Two-Year-olds from Edward Bethell for 2022

We would like to thank Ed for taking the time to detail 9 two-year-olds for this new Flat Turf season 2022.

I've always been a fan of James Bethell and Ed has hit the ground running and made an exceptional start to his training career at Thorngill, Coverham, Middleham, North Yorkshire.

Last year, we saw a number of talented 2yos including debut winners, which is the mark of a trainer who knows his horses.

Exminster, Eidikos & Reel Rosie all tasted success on their first start.

The star performer turned out to be the first two-year-old he raced back in May (25th) when Fearby finished a creditable fourth. However, he really found his stride winning second start, before thrashing the opposition at Sandown when flying clear by five lengths to win the Coral Dragon Stakes (Listed Race) before being tried at Group class.
A runner-up in the Molecomb Stakes (Group 3), beaten less than three lengths when fourth in the Gimcrack Stakes (Group 2), then finishing third, beaten less than two lengths, in the Mill Reef Stakes (Group 2) at Newbury.

This son of Havana Gold concluded his formative season winning £33,210 when runner-up in the Newmarket Tattersalls October Auction Stakes.

What  a great yearling purchase by Ed Bethell for just 21,000 guineas, racing in the silks of Clarendon Thoroughbred Racing. Seven races saw two winners, a highest official rating of 107 and total earnings of £93,950.

Exceptional.

No wonder we're all looking forward to this season.
