Bath 3.05 EBF Novice Stakes 5f10y
One tracker in this tough little 2yo race over the minimum distance. William Haggas does well with owners Clipper Logistics and he runs True Icon here who looks to be in with a chance to break her duck after a decent second last time out. Clive Cox and owner J C Smith are another owner combination I look out for and Rum Cocktail justified favouritism last time out at Newmarket when winning by a head, has a win penalty to make life more difficult here. Tracker SIXTH STREET comes here after what I thought was a decent debut at Wolverhampton three weeks ago. The 210,000gns Tornado Richard Hannon filly was stuck behind a wall of horses but managed to squeeze through and take it up a furlong out until being denied by the Clive Cox filly Benefit who incidentally won again yesterday to give the form a bit of substance. A drop down in trip here. Tough race but a small win bet at 100/30 for me. Coast is another who looks to be in the mix here.
Nottingham 1.00 Maiden Stakes 1m75y
Just the one tracker here who is the unraced Richard Hannon King Power colt WINDSEEKER. As we all know by now these unraced 2yos are a nightmare with not much to go on but Richard gave this 75,000gns Aclaim colt a few decent entries earlier in the season so hopefully he can show some promise here in what is yet another tough race with a mixture of promising unraced 2yos and a couple of potentially nice types who have already run including Qital for Mark Johnston who sets a fair standard after two runs this season. Windseeker is a 17/2 shot at the time of writing. In the next division at 1.30 I do have another unraced tracker called CLEAR DAY for the William Haggas and the Queen. A well-related colt who has attracted a little support already after opening up 11/2 last night.
I can't go without mentioning a couple more trackers, first is WHOLE OF THE MOON in the 3.40 at Bath, The Richard Hughes Zoffany gelding ran well in debut finishing fourth in what was a promising run. Any older readers will know The Waterboy's sing the Whole Of The Moon and in fact I will be going to watch them at the end of the month so this has to be a sign right?
The 5.30 at Bath is another tricky one and as far as trackers go this one is definitely last chance saloon. It will be minimum stakes and I mean really small as KODIAS SANGARIUS has pulled up on both starts. Sometimes it's worth a small speculation each way and at 66/1 a few pennies each way is worth a chance.
