Josephine Gordon is an Angel Of Delight (Plus Reviews And Previews)

What a day Saturday was for me. It could have been a lot better if I had done a different bet but I can’t complain, to be honest. As usual, Saturday was really busy so again it was the Sporting Life replays when I got home around 7 O’clock. I had an each-way Trixie on three of my fancies plus an each-way single on them all and another each-way single on my fourth fancy. First was Angel Of Delight for Hugo Palmer who was a pretty big price at 12/1, and I was hoping for a bit of support to make me feel a bit more confident, well I needn't have worried as Josephine Gordon (what a jockey by the way) was pushing along from a few furlongs out, but she never stopped and Angel Of Delight stayed on to win by just over a length. Great start to my Trixie.

Next up was my headline horse Lady Bowthorpe. I was pretty confident that she would get a place at least until I saw she had drifted to 20/1. Lady Bowthorpe finished sixth in the end and despite the big price it wasn't a bad effort. No good for my Trixie though as the second selection went down.

Next was Passing Fashion for Ralph Beckett. I did like this Raven’s Pass geldings debut run and was pretty sure he would come on for the experience. The 9/2 I took the night before was looking good as Passing Fashion was into 3/1 at the off. Even though he hung across the track the result was never in doubt and nice double for my Trixie. I did have one more each way single bet on Persuasion for Charlie Hills (I mentioned this one on Twitter). A very impressive performance by the 16/1 shot and another nice each-way single for me.

Monday was a different story as I wrote on my Twitter page that I would be having a small each-way double on Stylistique and Queen Salamah. A nice run by Stylistique to finish a neck second but Queen Salamah was pulled up quickly by Jamie Spencer when in contention for a place at least, hopefully, this Richard Spencer filly is back in action soon.

14:50 Pontefract 07 Aug 2019:

At the time of writing, I'm not really sure what price Three Fans will start but the Tom Dascombe Dabirsim colt made a really pleasing debut at Haydock 19 days ago. An 85,000 euro yearling purchase in August 2018. The Haydock race Three Fans made his debut in had a few nice horses in including the impressive Cobra Eye and Treble Treble. Three Fans was smartly away that day and ridden to keep up with the pace a couple of furlongs out before tiring the last furlong. Hopefully, some improvements will see him in the mix at the finish.

18:30 Kempton 07 Aug 2019

The market will prove the key to the chances of my next fancy Eshaasy in what looks like a pretty nice Novice Stakes race at Kempton. The 200,000 gns Oasis Dream colt was never involved in his debut at Newmarket. The 22/1 shot come out the stalls like he was half asleep before getting the hang of things late on after given a quiet introduction by Irish jockey Chris Hayes. Hopefully, I can get an each-way price and Eshaasy can improve considerably and confirm the high reputation John Gosden has of him. The bay colt doesn't have the best draw in stall 9 plus a few other nice colts to contend with including other trackers Impatient and Dogged plus some interesting newcomers, but an each-way bet for me if possible.

Thanks for reading and good luck.
