Expensive Purchase Tuk Power to make debut at Kempton (Plus Reviews and Previews)

Previews:

Wouldn’t it be great if money was no object and you could just splash the cash on anything you wanted, well the Leicester City owners can afford to do just do that? The King Power International Group certainly have money to spend, they are the largest duty-free company in Thailand and this week have three horses entered that come to a tidy sum of 2,050,000 gns. When you can spend 1,300,000 gns on one horse you know you have made it in life and let's face it they keep buying quality horses, so it has to be good for the sport.

Tuk Power the 1,300,000 gns horse runs at Kempton, trained by Andrew Balding, this 3-year-old Dubawi filly has a huge price tag around her neck, so I will be interested to see how she runs, not sure why she didn’t run as a 2-year-old, plus she never had any significant entries either, so I will be interested to see what the market says about her debut run.

Mystery Power has an early entry for the evening meeting at Kempton on Friday. This No Nay Never 2-year-old colt cost a cool 250,000 at the tattersall sales last October and is trained by Richard Hannon, he does not have any significant entries as yet, so I will be checking the market for any clues.

Chil Chil is trained by Andrew Balding and cost 500,000 back in October 2017. This 3-year-old filly is by Exceed and Excel, she had one run in May but looked keen to me and with the benefit of that run under her belt could be in the mix at the finish.

Reviews and Bet Reviews.

I had no luck in the Derby with my selection Telecaster who actually finished last, not sure if there was a problem with him or just simply outclassed. My couple of quid doesn't seem too bad of a loss compared to the owners £85,000 supplement fee but you have to be in it to win it. It was an amazing race with Anthony Van Dyck finishing like a train to take Madmoon inside the last furlong with Japan, Broome and Sir Dragonet all running great races to finish close together. I did have a little double with the winner and Virgil Van Djik to score anytime but no luck.

I mentioned three trackers in my post on Saturday. I had two in the same race at Doncaster, Full Verse who had a Group 2 Railway stakes entry and Kuwait Direction who had a Class 2 entry at Chester but didn't run. Full Verse was too short for me and to be honest, I did like the look of Kuwait Direction and everything pointed to a big run, so I had an each way bet at 9/1. I was made up when this Richard Hannon colt never fluffed the start like his last run and was well away, Full Verse took it up a furlong to go and beat Kuwait Direction by a nose, I didn't realise how close it was till I saw the replay later and was gutted, to be honest as it would have been a nice start to the day. Separate was my other tracker and won easily at odds of 4/6.

I had a couple of bets on Thursday, first was Eton College for Mark Johnston who looked professional on debut and up with the pace until tiring late on and the other was a speculative bet on Gypsy Rocker in the same race who was never involved.

The Saturday Trixie Review:

My selection was Kuwait Direction each way so it was a good start with a 9/1 place but Aaron and Sam's selections were unplaced even though running good races. One of these days we will get a double up but am not holding my breath at the minute haha.
