I would like to thank Craig Littlefairs for taking the time to forward his 3yos to follow. A lot of talented horses here and could be some Classic race successes.
ASTRODOME:
Pedigree: SEA THE STARS (IRE) SO MI DAR
Absolutely bred in the purple which is probably why he cost 1,200,000gns. Did not see the track as a 2yr old as he had not grown into his frame. Has had one run this season finishing 3rd on going that was not ideal. He will have come on a ton for that race and he holds a entry for Derby. Could well be worth following when going over 1m4f plus.
BRIDESTONES:
Pedigree:TEOFILO (IRE) WHITE MOONSTONE (USA)
I think it’s unusual for John and Thady to get a decent Godolphin that has effectively rejected by Charlie Appleby and Saeed bin Suroor.
This filly could well turn out to be a smart one.
She made her debut at Yarmouth in an October fillies race, over 1 mile, the stable have targeted that race before. She won well, picking up nicely.
John said: ''Afterwards that she would be suited by a mile plus this year and she has been given three French Group 1 entries over 8-10.5f already which tells me she has wintered well. ''
CAPTAIN CUDDLES:
Pedigree: KODIAC GOLDEN SHINE ROYAL APPLAUSE
Three runs last season twice over 7f then ran in a 6f race at Salisbury winning by a head. He is bred for speed so we should see doing well over either 5 or 6f.
COPPICE:
Pedigree: KINGMAN HELLEBORINE OBSERVATORY (USA)
A full brother to Calyx, she was well supported on debut despite there being a rival already rated 83 in the field, she won well despite being green.
Jockey said afterwards: ''Her homework had been good, and she had been working with previous winners.
I believe she is likely to start off in a Guineas trial if she is forward enough, she could be the yards runner at Royal Ascot this year.''
DESERT HERO:
Pedigree:SEA THE STARS (IRE) DESERT BREEZE DUBAWI (IRE)
He has always been a bit of a standout for me amongst William Haggas’s two-year-olds, which you wouldn’t necessarily expect given his middle-distance pedigree. He had no right being a sharp two-year-old but wasn’t a great big backward one and found all his work very easy. He won two of his three starts over a distance well short of his pedigree. Trainer has entered him for the Derby.
GOVERNOR OF INDIA:
Pedigree: DUBAWI (IRE) STAR OF SEVILLE
John has knowledge of this family. Never ran as a 2yr old due to being small and weak so trainer has given him plenty of time to grow and grow. He does not have any fancy entries so it will be interesting to see we’re he puts this horse but he is well thought of and will want 10 - 12f as a 3yo.
HOWEITAT:
Pedigree: DUBAWI JUSTLOOKDONTOUCH
Another unraced 3yr old from the Gosden yard. This homebred colt is a full brother to Francesco Clemente who John and Thady also train and has won three on the belt. Howeitat could well make his first appearance at the Newmarket Craven meeting in April.
INNER SPACE:
Pedigree: SIYOUNI (FR) JOURNEY DUBAWI (IRE)
This extremely well bred filly won her debut at Kempton over 1m impressively. Rab Havlin said afterwards that she does very little at home (as did her dam, Journey) and that may explain why she drifted on in the betting through race day.
However, she was thoroughly professional in the race and Rab didn’t need anything more than hands and heels riding. She looked a little small last year, so fingers crossed she has grown, but she looks a decent prospect and has two French Classic entries to her name in 2023.
LION’S PRIDE:
Pedigree: ROARING LION-CRIMSON RIBBON
A Unraced 3yr old from the Gosden yard. His dam Crimson Ribbon only had six runs as a 3yr old winning only once. John Gosden is known for not rushing his horses and he knows horses out of Roaring Lion need time. I believe Gosden has a lot of belief in this horse so it will be interesting to see what route he thus horse down.
MANTOOG:
Pedigree: KINGMAN MUDAWANAH
She is from an excellent Shadwell family. Once raced as a 2yr old finishing second behind Inner Space from John & Thady Gosden yard. Who has a entry in the 1000 Guineas. It is interesting that Shadwell have kept this horse for the coming season and can see it running in some nice races this flat season.
