Tuesday's 2yo Racing Update (2nd August)

Looking back at yesterday's post and trackers I have to admit I made a balls up. I was confident of the Karl Burke trained Swingalong running a race and decided to throw a few quid on despite the short price, then the doubts started to creep in and before you know it I'm hitting the cash out button. Swingalong pissed it in the end like the good horse I thought she was, the 7/4 was a good price in the end! Always lessons to be learnt. Marine Wave was an eye-catcher for me.

Espionne put up a good battle with the win penalty but Dubai Jemila was just too good on the day, the third Mawada ran very well on debut for Fahey.

Over in Ireland I had a bet on Nation's Call at 15/2 and despite finishing fourth this looks a decent race with the Aidan O'Brien Denmark putting up an impressive performance even after drifting in the market, I can't fault Nation's Call as could be decent race

My tracker Elraaed has been hammered at Ffos Las today, currently 7/4, I did see 4s last night, would have to be pretty decent to win against a few experienced rivals, Lord Bertie's debut looked good,  my other tracker Frequent Flyer has also attracted support and I've took 11s each way.

Few trackers for Wednesday while I have a minute.

18.50 Kempton

Animate for Simon & Ed Crisford could be useful after a promising debut at Newmarket last month. A full-brother to Smart Contender also trained by Simon & Ed who hasn't exactly set the world alight finishing unplaced in all four runs. It was a funny race at Newmarket when then the pace was steady to say the least in the early stages until turning into a sprint, Animate wasn't far behind considering he was slow away and any improvement should see the Shamardal colt in the mix here.

My next tracker is the Godolphin colt Silver knott who also ran in a decent race at Newbury first timeout. Very well supported that day Silver Knott threatened but never got involved in the finish when staying on well. I'm pretty sure the Lope De Vega colt will also be involved.

I think Silver Knott will need a step up in distance in the future.

Conclusion: A lot of the top yards turn up here so the betting should be informative. Silver Knott I imagine will be all the rage which will hopefully give me a chance to back Animate each way.

17.40 Yarmouth   03 Wednesday

Arikara for trainer Peter Chapple-hyam. Dam Glade spent her final racing year with Ed Walker being placed twice at middle distance, second in a Listed race at Nottingham. My other tracker Is the Richard Spencer filly Sweet Harmony who made her debut in a hot novice at Ascot last month. An 11/1 shot that day she looked pretty professional and knew her job against a few experienced rivals, it was only the final furlong that she was left behind slightly but stayed on to the line, Spencer and owner Phil Cunningham have come together with a few nice ones in the past and I'm hoping she will improve here against a few potential nice newcomers. William Haggas is always worth looking out for here and runs Royal Design.

Thanks for reading and good luck.
