Wednesday 8th June

Nothing really to get excited about in my last post. My main bet was Fox Degree at Pontefract who I'd backed the night before each way at 5s. The Ralph Beckett trained filly huffed and puffed but couldn't quite get near my tracker Double O who won a shade cosily with Hi Clare second and Fox Degree third. I was pleased Hi Clare didn't win or I would never have been able to live it down as the Mrs name is Clare, well Claire but you get the drift, that's one thing I never do is names. Thunder Cat finished stone last at Chelmsford yesterday, I did mention I wasn't sure what I was going to do about this tracker as I was in two minds after the slow start on his debut run at York. I couldn't resist and took 5s each way, well that was as good as it got basically and don't know what happened to be honest. My other tracker was a Hannon 2yo debutante Armour Propre who travelled well until fading into fourth at Salisbury, not bet this one luckily enough. A pretty disappointing couple of days.

A few trackers over the next few days.

Haydock 8th June 2022 14.20

A couple of debutantes here so it will be a watching brief for me as the favourite Changing Colours looks a nice 2yo for Charlie Appleby. Novaportian is the first for Hugo Palmer, a 75,000 yearling with a decent pedigree. Trainer is three out of eight with debutantes here, if strongly supported could be interesting but no bet for me. My other tracker is Craig Lidster outsider Dickieburd, another one to watch.

Haydock 14.55

Looks like a tasty affair with a Gosden newcomer and two Appleby 2yos. Courageous Knight is the pick of Buick after a decent debut at Nottingham when staying on fourth to another tracker of mine, Garner. It wouldn't surprise me to see a much improved effort here from the Dubawi colt. My tracker is the other Appleby runner Winter Crown for Adam Kirby, stranger things have happened when the seemingly second string wins. Winter Crown was another who wasn't knocked about on debut in Newbury maiden last month when attracting some late support and finishing seventh. I thought it was a decent effort and wasn't given a hard time by Jim Crowley that day. I've had a small each way at 5s and if the favourite disappoints hopefully the Invincible Spirit colt can step up. A few other top yards turn up here with newcomers so it will be interesting to watch the betting here.

Haydock 9th June 17.25

Times running out but a few trackers Thursday. Madam Macho for Mark Johnston and Let's Have A Flyer for David Evans. I did think the Evans runner ran well at Chester on debut in what looked a decent race, it's a funny old tracker Chester but and despite Let's Have A Flyer being slow away the Camacho filly did pretty well to catch up and was full of running at the finish. Evans is another trainer I can never catch but could be worth a small speculative each way.

Nottingham 9th June 14.00

Marbaan for Charlie Fellowes.
Urban Sprawl for Mark Johnston.

Newbury 9th June 14.10

Mysterious Knight for Charlie Appleby.

Thanks for reading and good luck.
