Wednesday's Thoughts (22nd September)

A very quick post.

2:00 Redcar -

Vintage Choice ran well on debut when contesting the Convivial Stakes at York, a race worth £36,078 to the winner. William Haggas' charge earned £8,463 fir finishing a respectable third. This son of Lope De Vega cost a whopping 310,000g at the yearling sales. This looks a drop in class. Out From Under looks a fair juvenile and winner until the stewards looked closer. In realistic terms a winner without a penalty. Puntastic ran well on her first start at Haydock. There doesn't look much value for the two favourites. I would have concerns that Puntastic isn't quite up to the challenge so I will take a watching brief.

6:45 Kempton -

Monitor is held in some regard and went well on debut when finishing fifth but losing by a short distance. A step up in class and one mile saw a disappointing effort. This drop in class and back to 6f looks a fair opportunity to taste victory. There isn't much value at odds of 3/1 (if lucky).
