1:15 Beverley Racing Tips (22nd June)

13:15 Beverley 22 Jun 2021

It’s getting late and after no motivation at all lately I think it’s time I got my ass in gear and made an effort. One tracker that came through is DARK MOON RISING for the Kevin Ryan yard. I do keep an eye out for Kevins 2-year-olds second time out. Owned by familiar owner Angie Bailey the bay Night Of Thunder colt started his career in a Class 2 race at York just over 40 days ago, always a good sign when entered in a class 2. The 80,000 gns yearling wasn’t fancied that day and it was no surprise to see Dark Moon Rising finish nearer last than first that day. Questions have to be answered here but this is a course Kevin does well with his 2-year-olds and has a good strike rate second time out. Been a bit of money around already but if drifting to over 10s I would take a watching brief. An each way bet for me if steady in the market comes race time. I do like to follow Owner and trainer combinations and Hugo Palmer and Dr Ali Ridha run Power Of Beauty here who could be anything. A couple of other newcomers also come here with chances but I will stick with a bit of experience here.

Another tough looking race, well they are all tough unless you get the winner that is. I will be holding out to see if this one is backed in otherwise I will be leaving alone. SHAREEF SHAREEF is similar to Dark Moon Rising who never did much on debut. The Mark Johnson trained Galileo Gold attracted some support on his debut at Lingfield 8 days ago but travelled wide for most of the race before staying on past beaten horses. Lingfield is one of them tracks that if you don’t get away well you are pretty much doomed so with that experience behind him I will hope for some improvement at least. A few other runners who have already raced so as I said I will be looking for support and around 9/2 will make it a bet for me if drifting a watching brief.

A bit of what looks like a shortie here in the name of CIRCOLOCO who made her debut at York 12 days ago for trainer Michael Dods. The Mehmas filly ran a cracker to finish second on debut to Jadhlaan who looks a nice type for Mark Johnston. The bay filly was purchased for 34,000 gns and dam Special Focus finished second in a Listed race for Jim Bolger. I will be just watching with interest here as the price looks too short against a couple that could improve also a newcomer from the O’Meara yard who could be anything and is owned by Clipper Logistics who have a few nice horses in training. Thanks for reading and stay safe.
