Future Stars For Godolphin (8th January)

HAFIT -  Dubawi (IRE) / Cushion (GB)

Consignor Floors Stud. Purchased by Godolphin at the October Yearling Sales for 2,100,000 gns. Dam Cushion started her career with John Gosden back in 2012 being placed twice then went on to win her maiden at three and placed in a couple of Listed races. First foal was Bright Idea for Joseph Patrick O'Brien who ran his best race to date when coming second last June at Curragh.

PRINCESS D'OR Frankel (GB) / Fleche d'Or (GB)

Consignor Norelands Stud. Purchased by Godolphin at the October Yearling Sales for 2,000,000 gns. Dam Fleche D’or was unraced but make no mistake the 14-year-old mares offspring have been exceptional with the brilliant John Gosden Golden Horn being one of them. The unnamed Frankel is a full-brother to one of my Godolphin horses to follow last year Dhahabi who was very well-thought of by Charlie Appleby last season and looks a future star. Dhahabi won first timeout at Newmarket then went onto finish second in the Denford Stakes before running a cracking race to finish third in the Group 3 Autumn Stakes at Newmarket and one I will be looking forward to watching as a 3-year-old along with this Godolphin newcomer.

WHISPERING ROMANCE - Kingman (GB) / Sante (IRE)

Consignor Lynn Lodge Stud. Purchased by Godolphin at the October Yearling Sales for 1,450,000 gns. Trained by Charlie Appleby. First foal for dam Sante who ran at a decent enough level for Charlie Hills before making a move to France.

IMPERIAL CROWN - Frankel (GB) / Attraction (GB)

Consignor Floors Stud. Purchased by Godolphin at the October Yearling Sales for 1,100,000 gns. Trained by Charlie Appleby. The Attraction bay colt comes from an excellent family and is a full -brother to the smart Elarqam who won his only two races as a 2-year-old most notably his second start when winning the Group 3 Somerville Stakes at Newmarket for trainer Mark Johnston, plenty of group success followed and finished his racing career in style winning the Dubai Duty Free Legacy Cup Stakes at Newbury. Elarqam is a first season sire and stands stud at Haras de Saint Arnoult. Other offspring to note are Fountain Of Youth and Maydanny who both ran at decent levels.

AL NAFIR - Dubawi (IRE) / Intricately (IRE)

Consignor Highclere Stud. Purchased by Godolphin at the October Yearling Sales for 1,100,000 gns. First foal for dam Intricately who was sold at the 2017 December Breeding Stock Sale for 1,700,000 gns and had a decent career for trainer Joseph Patrick O'Brien. Intricately won first timeout at Gowran Park when going off a 33/1 shot in what was a great debut season for the Fastnet Rock mare, the pinnacle being the brilliant performance she put in to win the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes. Intricately never got another win to her name in her second season but still ran to a decent level in pattern races before retiring in 2017.

UNNAMED Dubawi (IRE) / Jacqueline Quest (IRE)

Consignor New England Stud. Purchased by Godolphin at the October Yearling Sales for 525,000 gns. The Dubawi Chestnut colt comes from a beautiful family and another Dubawi that could be worth following this season. A half-brother to the Charlie Appleby trained Line Of Duty who went on to win the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Grade 1 at Churchill Downs, also half-brother to another Appleby colt called Act Of Wisdom who won three times last season and could be a force to be reckoned with again this year.

FALL OF ROME Frankel (GB) / Calare (IRE)

Owned by Godolphin and trained by Charlie Appleby. The Frankel bay colt is a bit of an unknown but comes with a nice looking pedigree being out of the Godolphin bred Calare. The Dubawi mare started a hot favourite for her debut at Doncaster back in Doncaster June 2016 and the result was never in doubt winning easily and then went on to win a Listed race in Ireland.

WITH THE MOONLIGHT

FRANKEL (GB) / SAND VIXEN ( GB)

Owned by Godolphin and trained by Charlie Appleby. Frankel makes the list here again and hopefully this bay filly can make her mark this season and in the future for the all conquering boys in blue. With The Moonlight is a full-sister to the Saeed bin Suroor trained Dream Castle who has an illustrious career. The seven-year-old had an amazing time at Meydan in 2019 winning three group races on the bounce and showed no sign of slowing down last year when finishing second in the Group 3 Darley Stakes at Newmarket.

WILD BEAUTY Frankel (GB) / Tulips (IRE)

Owned by Godolphin and trained by Charlie Appleby. A half-sister to a couple of nice types for Godolphin. Ottoman Court was an early one for Charlie when making his debut in May 2019 when looking a little green to do himself justice, finally getting his win at the end of the season at Chelmsford. Swift Rose on the other hand made her debut at the end of 2019 winning first timeout.

KING OF CONQUEST Lope de Vega (IRE) / Moi Meme (GB)

Consignor Hillwood Stud. Purchased by Godolphin at the October Yearling Sales for 900,000 gns. A full-brother to the Andrew Balding King Vega who was placed twice before going onto run below par in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes but not one to give up on yet.

AL NAFIR Dubawi (IRE) x Nightime (IRE)

Consignor The Castlebridge Consignment. Purchased by Godolphin at the November Foal Sale 2019 for €1,200,000. A full-brother to beautifully bred Ghaiyyath who was only beaten four times in what was a brilliant career winning group one after group one and was rated the best horse in the world in 2020. Retired from racing and now stands stud at Kildangan Stud.

Thanks for reading and stay safe.
