I can’t be accused of selecting short price favourites all the time in my blog as I will be taking one on again here, I feel like I say this a lot but I do like this odds on shot to be honest. *Baradar looks a decent colt for the Roger Varian team and comes with a nice price tag of 260,000 gns and owned by Amo Racing Limited who seem to have plenty 2yo amo this year(alright not my best joke) including a few nice types for Roger already in the name of Sardinia Sunset and Setarhe. Baradar sets a good standard here and looks difficult to beat even with the extra weight. It could be worth looking for some each way value as a few of these could be making up the numbers here.
EMPEROR SUPREME will be my each way selection here and I will be disappointed if I don’t get a run for my money here at Redcar. The Holy Roman Emperor bay colt is owned and trained by Adrian Nicholls (pictured) and was picked up for 30,000 euros at the 2020 Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Breeze-Up Sale. Adrian already has one star in his yard in the name of Mamba Wamba who has run some excellent races this year. Emperor Supreme made his debut at Pontefract a few weeks ago and showed plenty of promise when finishing third behind the Beckett winner Sir Maxi. Emperor Supreme looked pretty professional for his debut and despite being drawn wide was settled in behind the leaders until jockey Barry McHugh got a bit trapped and despite running on couldn't land a blow. The extra furlong should suit and as I say hopefully I can get a run for my money. (8/1 at time of writing 23.24)

Another favourite to be shot at here, this time it's the nice looking Godolphin colt Rich Waters who beat a few nice types at Kempton last timeout. I will be looking at another each way bet here with the Roger Varian trained BATRAAN who is an 85,000 gns Camacho colt and made his debut at York last month, some late support on debut was a good sign when backed into 5s from 13/2. Batraan was half asleep coming out the stalls but looked to be staying on at the end and wasn't given a hard time when the race was nearly over. Takes a significant step up in trip and hopefully that will see him in a better light. (5/1 at the time of writing 23.50) any drift over 15/2 would be a negative and worth keeping in mind.

A late selection here as I only just noticed it in my trackers. *LEAFHOPPER on the face of it looks like she has it all to do against some experienced rivals. The twice raced John Gosden Dark Angel grey filly was only seen once as a 2-year-old when making a winning debut at Newmarket last August. The 480,000 gns purchases made her appearance at Catterick two weeks ago and showed she could still play a hand here. John Gosden rated this filly last year giving her entries for the Rockfel and the fillies Mile, yes she lacks the experience but hopefully another who could give me a run for my money. (10/1 at the time of writing 00.02) another each way for me.
Good luck and stay safe.
