Day 3-Royal Ascot Daily Trixie 2019

Day 2 Royal Ascot Trixie Review:

I couldn't believe it when Ickworth didn’t come out the stalls and to make it worse Betfred won't be refunding me. Anyway, I did mention Mark Johnstons Raffle Prize in my review yesterday, she ran a great race and held on well from the American challenger Kimari but that's no consolation to me after another disappointing selection. Aaron’s selection Pretty Baby disappointed in thirteenth place and Sam’s selection Raising Sands finished well to grab third. It’s proving a difficult meeting so far but I will stay positive and hopefully the next two days will be better.

Day 3. 14:30 Ascot 21 Jun 2019 Norfolk Stakes

Craig: SUNDAY SOVEREIGN is one of the more experienced runners in the field and with an RPR of 103. A winner already twice on soft ground so the forecast good to soft ground shouldn't be a problem. He put himself firmly in the Royal Ascot picture when beating the O’Brien trained Coventry Stakes winner Arizona by three lengths. Sunday Sovereign made some impression that day as owners King Power Racing purchased him, and he will be the first Irish based horse to run in their silks. I will stick with a short one today after a disastrous few days. Expressionist has only run once but has course and distance form to his name already plus he has run on good to soft. This Charlie Appleby Night of Thunder colt won readily on his debut in May and has an RPR of 89. Ventura Rebel I imagine will have to be a bit quicker out of the gates against this top class field saying that he has run on strong and won two out of two for Richard Fahey. King Neptune comes here at the top of his game. He looks the second string with Ryan riding the unexposed colt Mount Fuji but as I mentioned in an older post sometimes the jockey bookings count for nothing in the O’Brien yard. King Neptune has put in some solid efforts when getting beat by the highly rated Siskin and Ickworth. He does like to front run which does put me off a bit against a few that will be running on at the finish.

15:05 Ascot 20 Jun 2019 Hampton Court Stakes

Aaron: Cape Of Good Hope comes into this race after a good on fourth in the Prix du Jockey Club in France. Fox Chairman comes here after a good third at Chester where he got caught in traffic but he clearly has potential. SANGARIUS, comes here for the inform Frankie Dettori and Sir Michael Stoute, his comeback at Sandown was a decent effort and looks like he would improve for the run. The step up in trip is an unknown but shouldn’t be a problem and is my selection at 8/1. A couple of others that could enter calculations are Kick On who will prefer the softer ground and King Ottokar, who travelled well before not staying out the trip in the Chester Vase should appreciate the drop in distance.

17:35 Ascot 20 Jun 2019 King George V Stakes

Sam: Constantinople looks like he will relish the step up to 1m4 and has shown marked improvement on every outing. Sir Ron Priestley is definitely a horse on the up and should he handle the 8lb rise he will defo go close but my preference is for SINJAARI, he came home with a rattle when just losing out to a short head to Headman ok it’s the previous outing. I don’t think the 8lb rise will stop him this time and the step up in trip is a massive positive.
