I would like to thank David Pidduck for his great work detailing the cream of the crop from Clarehaven Stables. His knowledge of John & Thady Gosden's horses is second to none and this has been proven by his past successes. In fact, David has been kind enough to forward his Clarehaven 12 To Follow since 2022.
Please take a moment to visit his page on X @DarRemi.
Here's what David has to say:
CLAREHAVEN 12 (13) TO FOLLOW IN 2026.Firstly a recap of the 2025 list. We made a small profit of +£2.41 (ROI 5%) after getting
15 wins from 47 runs. It is our third successive profit from the three ten to follows that I
have done.
So, the usual rules apply
–
3yo
’
s can only have ran NO MORE THAN ONCE and 4yo
’
s
that haven’t ran more than twice.
I have ten 3yo
’
s and two 4yo
’
s and in all honesty, I
could have included another half dozen.
I am not sure if it is the extra information that I have gleaned over 2025 or the very
positive stats related to our 2yo
’
s and the distance they ran over, but I do think we have
an above average crop of 3yo
’
s this season.

ENOCH (George Strawbridge) [Frankel] 22/4/23 b c
-
1
He won his only start at Newmarket in September and John is hopeful that he is a smart
colt in the making. My biggest reservation with him was that he was not over big when I
saw him but my understanding is that he has wintered well over the winter.
He is a
well
-
balanced
colt,
who should go on all ground except extremes. The three
horses that he beat at Newmarket are all rated 81
-
85.
UPDATE
–
Enoch has been given a French 2,000 Guineas and French Derby entry. This is
a good sign, suggesting that he has come through the winter well and with no significant
issues.
FOREVER TRUE (Lady Bamford) [Siyouni] 12/3/23 b f
-

Third in the Taghrooda Fillies Novice in September on the Rowley Mile, she was given a
positive mention by John when I saw him two days before her debut. Her run
was very
encouraging and the race was one of the strongest fillies Novices run last season.
UPDATE
–
Forever True has been given a French Oaks entry.
LIGHTING THUNDER (Sheikh Juma) [Night Of Thunder] 14/2/23 b c

Well thought of at Clarehaven, his
debut in September was full of promise. The colt that
beat him at Yarmouth, Spyce, ended 2025 with an Official Rating of 100 and Spyce had
already had the benefit of a run before beating Lighting who was making his debut.

Lighting Thunder has been
given a French Derby entry.
MISS SCOTT (Thoroughbred Racing Corporation) [Night Of Thunder] 26/1/23 b f

The fillies maiden that she won at Leicester on her only start was a fair standard but it
was clear she had physical size and scope in abundance
and despite running green, she
beat a pair with average form.
But two things are worth noting. Firstly, we don’t normally enter for the Irish Classics as
the early entry
fees
are expensive and she has been given an Irish 1,000 Guineas entry
already. Secondly, I have heard she has wintered really well.

Miss Scott has been given French 1,000 Guineas and French Oaks entries.
MY LOVE IS KING (Normandie Stud) [Kingman] 18/2/23 b c
-

Leggy And unfurnished, he won his only 2yo start in a below
average Novice at
Newcastle in November. His work on the run up to the race was good if he has
strengthened through the winter, he looks another decent prospect for Philippa Cooper.
UPDATE

My Love Is King has been given a French Derby entry.
ORGANISE (Wathnan Racing) [Night Of Thunder] 8/5/23 ch c

“Big, leggy and scopey
”
(Simon Mapletoft), he was colty and green before his one and
only start in November at Southwell. That greenness continued through the race which
he won by 7l! It was a below averag
e contest but the placed horses have official ratings
now of 72 and 79.
James Doyle was impressed in his post
-
race chat and he thinks he is a smart colt in the
making.

Organise has been given a French Derby entry.

A lovely looking filly, she works well and her only run at two was promising
. She is a full
sister to the recent Listed winner Chancellor and could easily reach the same level in
time.
SUNSHINE STAR (Lady Bamford) [Sea The Stars
] 30/1/23 b f

She is related to Oaks winner Soul Sister, who did this blog a favour in 2023 when
winning both the Epsom Classic and Musidora at decent prices
in 2023
.
Her Kempton debut in October was promising enough
and she
had shown a lot
of class
i
n her work leading up to her debut.
She is a lovely big scopey filly and I am very hopeful
that she can earn black type by the end of her season.
UPDATE

Sunshine Star has been given a French Oaks entry.
SYMBOL OF MAJESTY (Abdullah Al

Khalifa & Isa Salma
n) [New Bay] 24/3/23 b f

She is a New Bay half to Commissioning who went undefeated in her three race career,
ending with a Group 1 victory until injury curtailed her promising career.
I had heard unfavourable reports about her before her only run so
I was not very hopeful
coming into her race. After being slow away, Rab tucked her out the back and off the
home turn, her chance looked gone.
I would advise you to watch the race
....
IF she has strengthened and grown through the winter into her leggy frame, she is
capable of getting close to the level her half
-
sister achieved. She is also related to
Military Academy who John and Thady also trained to
a very decent level.
UPDATE
–
Symbol Of Majesty has been given a French Oaks entry.
WISE PRINCE (Rachel,
Philipps & Wrigley) [Ghaiyyath] 8/2/23 b c

He made his one and only start at Nottingham in October and despite being wide and
keen for the first part of the race, he came through and won by 3.5l with Rab taking a
while to pull him up down the back straight. Rab described him as
“
He was very raw at
different parts of the race, big lad, nice horse for next year, he had worked well twice on
the Limekilns without seeing another horse! He has a good body on him he just needs to
get stronger and stronger.
”
Wise Prince is starting to give me
‘
Jack Hobbs
’
vibes.
UPDATE
–
Wise Prince has been given a French Derby entry.

UNRACED
WATER TO WINE (George) [Kingman] 28/3/23 b c
This colt is very well regarded by many
at Clarehaven. He met with a setback which
prevented him running as a 2yo but he is a
serious colt. My understanding is that it isn’t anything serious and I would like to hope that we will see him at Newmarket or Newbury
in April.

ALSHERA (Shadwell) [Sea The Stars] 21/4/22 b f

This homebred filly didn
’
t run until the November
of her 3yo career but she made it a
winning start to her career in decent fashion. Her full brother, Antarah, was highly
promising as a 2yo and had his career derailed with a serious injury. It is hoped that
Alshera can progress into a black type filly. I
understand that she has wintered well.
KENNETH (Normandie Stud) [Kingman] 2/3/22 b c
-
2
He is a typical Phillipa Cooper bred horse. A beautiful physical specimen, he stands
over 17hh and he was too weak and tall to run as a juvenile.
He only ran once a
s a 3yo where he was an encouraging 2nd
at Newbury. The winner
ended the year officially rated 112 and the third 94.
He was gelded in December 2025 and remains in training.
If he has strengthened and
filled his frame, he will win races in 2026.
