Friday's 2yo Racing Info (19th July)

It’s been a while but with bumper day of 2-year-old racing tomorrow I thought I’d make an appearance and jot down a few of my thoughts. This season I’ve been trying to get away from shorter prices and look for value, it's not easy trying to find bigger prices but they are out there, odds on shots are there to be shot at, yes a good few come in but if you can find value for the place it can be just as rewarding, who wants to see your hard earned twenty quid go down the pan when trying to double your money?

As you know I try to concentrate on 2yo racing, first timeouts are tough but you can find a few biggies but second timeout is where I try to get my money. Tomorrow could turn into a bloodbath with so many races so It’s a time not to go mad and be careful especially with a Newmarket and Newbury as they seem to attract the bigger yards, looking for smaller meetings with what I call a few bits of dead wood in. Quite a few trackers tomorrow I would be here all night if Ii was to mention them all so Ill narrow it down.

NEWBURY 14.25

Two trackers in this. Tilted Kilt for William Knight who made a nice start winning at Kempton, never think because these 2yos have a win penalty to deal with that they won’t win again, not sure about Tilted Kilt but the Persian King colt hopefully puts in another good effort. The one who I fancy but won’t be backing on it’s own anyway is HAWKSBILL for Hugo Palmer and Tom Marquand, made his debut a couple of weeks ago at Sandown, that was in a Class 2 Novice Stakes race and this should be easier pickings, the Kameko colt got the hang late on when flying at the finish, the winner Anno Domini is held in high regard by Appleby, as I said price is too short but I will be cheering him on.

NOTTINGHAM 14.15

Two trackers in this again, first is Richard Fahey’s Veydari who will be popular and also too short, a good chance but I need value. The favourite is Charlie Appleby’s Hallasan who is odds on at the minute, If you back that you need your head testing, could win but not one of his best 2yo’s and still looking for his first win, value is what I’m after, I would rather lose my pennies going against these hot pots. Step forward Richard Hannon(not fussy on backing his 2yo’s but here we are) MUKABER is currently around 33/1, I will be playing for a place and hoping the first two in the market have stinkers, pretty sure Richard like this Grey Gelding, Yes 33/1 for a reason as finished way down the field on debut at Haydock and was behind my other tracker Veydari, been off the track a while and looked like wasn’t given a hard time on debut, gelded since and hopefully can sneak a place, one important thing here is Mukaber needs support or I will be getting rid of the bet.

NEWMARKET 17.15

Hopefully I have had a nice winner by this race(wishful thinking) another odds on to fire at, who doesn’t love taking these on?

Adoon Valley is odds on here, bring it on, but with what I hear you say. Ed Dunlop doesn’t fill me with confidence at the best of times, his 2yos have been pretty poor to say the least but the booking of De Sousa catches they on CROCODILE RIVER who is currently 20/1, a big price on debut when sent off 25/1 the Oasis Dream filly was always at the back, made a bit of progress and looked to be getting the hang of things late on despite still running green, related to a couple of Dunlop winners so gives me some hope Ed can finally do something for me, another to treat with caution and need support or getting kicked into the cash out bin.

Thanks for reading and good luck.
