2:55 Ascot Racing Tips (15th July)

2:55 Ascot

7f Restricted Novice class 2

Runners

Al Musmak fto

Trainer: Varian

 95,000 gns purchase

Dam:unraced

Pretty poor fto strike rate this season

Good place rate at Ascot

Under 2/1 very good

Over 15/2 win rate poor

Galactic Charm fto

Trainer: Bell

60,000 euro purchase.

Related to a few winners including Roger Varians Gibbs Hill who was a nice type but needed a distance

Speed in the pedigree with dam Gold Charm winning over six and seven furlongs.

Trainer had a poor fto strike rate and is 0/13 this season but has had a few places.

Poor win strike rate at course

Over 5s a negative.

Jean Ribault fto

Trainer: Menuisier

Nice pedigree with multiple group winner Atzeco being the pick of the bunch.

Trainer doesn't have many 2yos and has ran three this season including Sunway a 13/2 winner.

Trainers worth watching over this distance.

Owners Quantum Leap don't rush their horses.

Preschool fto

Trainer: Bell

50,000 euro foal.

Dam a sister to a nice hurdler.

Trainer stats are the same as other Bell 2yo.

North View fto

Trainer: P.W. Chapple-Hyam

9,500 gns purchase

Dam unraced, sister to decent performers over a mile and a quarter.

Trainer has limited 2yos. Defence Of Fort one last year at Ascot in July.

Interesting support.

Courcheval fto

Trainer: Harry Eustace

48,000 gns purchase

Dam Allumage win for Roger Charlton in 2015, fair type

Trainer the new kid on the block, couple of fto winners last season out of a handle full of runners, already had two placed out of three this season.

Over 14s a negative.

Only filly in the field.

Playtime fto

Trainer: Balding

67,000 euro purchase.

Related to a couple of winners in France.

Trainer has poor strike rate this season with fto 2yos, 2/33 win percentage.

Over 15/2 poor strike rate.

Under The Sun sto

Trainer: Palmer

Well-regarded by trainer who hasn't had the best last two seasons with sto 2yo winners.

Nice strike rate at course.

Over 5s negative.

Went off 4/1in a decent race at Haydock. The winner Ancient Wisdom entered in the National Stakes after 2/2. Under The Sun was nicely away and settled well, made his move a furlong and a half but was soon overtaken by Ancient Wisdom. That was a lovely performance and should be in the mix if taken to the ground.

City House sto

Trainer: Fanshawe

85,000 gns Breeze-up

Trainer pops up with the odd 2yo winner

Over 10s a negative.

Stayed on into fourth on debut without giving a hard time. Jim Crowley takes over.

Never Sell sto

Trainer: Archie Watson

90,000 euro breeze-up

Bit of support debut at Goodwood from 12s to 7s when slowly away and beaten eight lengths by Thunder Blue.

Consistent trainer and banged in plenty of winners already.

Would need to be under 10s to be considered.

Romantic Samurai sto

Trainer: Hannon

Related to Gert Lush for Roger Teal who despite being average won a few times.

Dam Agent Allison did like a bit of cut in the ground, finishing second in the Albany Stakes in 2012.

I'm Puzzled sto

Trainer: Harry& Roger Charlton

Related to a few winners. Dam unraced.

Slowly away and jinxed right when making debut at Sandown, Considering how far behind he was done pretty well to finish close. Needs to improve but showed a bit of potential.

Unleash Hell tto

Trainer: Dascombe

Not involved in both starts this season.

Conclusion:

Fav Under The Sun strong here and can see why, holds a group one entry and one of my trackers, no value for me. The soft going makes it even more of a puzzle, going to chance a couple each way. Romantic Samurai around 7s and I'm Puzzled 16s.

Good luck and thanks for reading.
