Thursday's 2yo Racing Tips (8th December)

6:00 Chelmsford -

There has been good money for James Tate's Popular Dream who has very high stats if 6/4 and less sp. If 11/4 and less sp has fair stats. Beelzebub ran well last time and could well have won if not for running wide, hanging on the turn and taking time to get back on an even keel before running on well. A good looking horse who is up to winning. Inexperience created problems and you have to worry it might be an issue. It is enough to put me off betting at short odds. If running his race could well take some beating. No real value for the favourites unless drifting to the extreme. If Tate's drifted back out and returned 3/1+ it would be a negative. Sofia Cat was fancied on debut and did little at Windsor. Hasn't been seen for along time and may have strengthened up. Has fair stats if 13/2 and less sp. Has something to prove. Ertebat was in a decent betting guide last time out but disappointed. A horse I would watch. Baahill would be a high stat horse if backed to 11/4 and less sp. He has done well this year with horses at slighter bigger odds and that is something we will look at in the future. In general, the stable have decent place claims on debut at almost any odds. I can't see much here as a bet with the favourites short odds and offering little value. However, I do think they have the best chance here.

6:30 Chelmsford -

Exciting to see The Xo return for John Ryan. A horse with significant entries and showed up well on debut when behind a very talented filly. Touched 11/4 on Betfair and backed. I would expect a bold show but at the odds not great value. If drifting to the extreme would be of more interest. Demi Ponte is well bred and out of a listed and group placed mare. Would be a high stat horse if 9/2 and less sp. Umming N' Ahing is a fair colt for Bill Turner and owner E A Brook. Would be lovely to see him have a 2yo winner. A decent looking colt. Will lead but may be collared late. Tawalla has fair stats if 10/1 and less sp. I would discount Hitched unless strongly fancied. Lots out of the two favourites and The Xo is potentially a decent horse.
