Thursday's 2yo Horse Racing (28th July)

1:00 Nottingham -

Dandy Alys looks a decent type for this grade although no value. Three Beauz looks a rare Julia Feilden horse with ability. A little bit keen on debut. and may have been flattered but could go well. Fingers crossed for a small stable. Impeachment is speedy and will appreciate this drop in distance. Looks out of the three. You'd have to feel Impeachment should be a fair each way hope.

2:25 Goodwood -

An open-looking Richmond Stakes. Will be watching.

5:20 Goodwood -

Class 2 stakes race. Zarga is a big, strong filly who would have won on debut if not lacking experience. Has good stats if 13/2 and less sp. Looks a tough race and Sparkling Beauty and She's Hot are just a couple with valuable experience and fighting chance. Mostly interested in Zarga but just a watching race.

6:45 Salisbury -

Batal Dubai won impressively on debut beating Supreme King who ran well yesterday at Goodwood. Always slightly wonder if there was a track bias that day running on the far rail but we will see today. Captain Cuddles is a good-looking colt and will appreciate this drop in distance after showing ability but too keen last time out.

7:00 Epsom -

Almutawakel ran well on debut and looks to go well here. No real value but a horse to beat but take on. Indian Dream looks a bit wayward but a good-looking colt who could go well if starting on terms. Tuddenham Mill is professional and bumped into a class horse last time in Wahaaj. May benefit from this step up in distance. A horse with a chance. Greased Lightning won on debut, a race that may have fallen apart to some point and has to shoulder a penalty. Clenched is on a recovery mission after disappointing after a promising debut. Andrew Balding goes well at this course and Sydney Mews is interesting. Would have very good each way claims if 9/1 and less sp. Even Saxon Scene, beaten by Almutawakel, may go better if leading and taking to this course.

A competitive race and not very easy to have a strong view. If price 9/1 and less sp I would fancy Sydney Mews to hit the frame. If outside that betting guide best watched.

7:15 Salisbury -

The betting suggests this is a four-horse race. Rose Prick is better than seen and held in some regard by Ed Walker. Racing in a class 2 stakes race last time out, when looming up then dropping back, looking a touch disappointing. Not much of a price so probably best watched.

Conclusion

Not the easiest day to find a winner but a few half chances. My main hope would be Sydney Mews in 7pm Epsom if 9/1 and less sp with each way claims but a race that looks very competitive which knocks confidence. But an interesting days racing with Impeachment, Zarga and rose Prick trying to go one better.
