The weather has given me a few days to recharge my batteries with no racing here in England because of the hot weather and rightly so as It would have been ridiculous in this heat.
A quick look back at my last post before I get to my trackers.
American Belle actually ran alright and finished third at Newmarket last Saturday in a cracking finish. My next one was Royal Dress who finished second, not to be critical of a jockey but a stronger finish might have seen her get closer or even win. Last but not least was Lord Uhtred who was well supported. It was another close finish and the Charlie Hills colt was another placed effort. I made a small profit doing an each way Trixie.
Onto a few trackers I have running Friday..
13:55 Ascot Friday July 22
This looks a tough race with a few unexposed 2yos in the field. To save time I'll just mention my trackers unless I fancy something strongly. The unraced No Nay Never colt Never Just A Dream has popped up in my trackers and is well regarded by trainer Ismail Mohammed and with the booking of Ryan Moore it's obvious they like this one. A £95,000 yearling who looks a nice type on paper. Trainer not known for debut 2yo winners but if any money around would be a positive here.
The more obvious winner is my next tracker Syndicated for Andrew Balding who was sent off 10/11 favourite for his debut at Newmarket on May 1st. The Dubawi colt has been off the track since finishing third that day to Miami Girl who has won a class 2 since and ran with credit in a few pattern races. Syndicated was green on debut and hopefully settles better after the lay off and the step up in trip should be to his liking here.
Interesting Richard Hannon has won this race the past four years and runs Bailey Gate who actually ran with promise for a long way at Newbury on his debut last month until fading, Buccabay another in that race should also improve.
14.30 Ascot
It's a shame I have two well regarded trackers in the same race here, Aunt Violet and Clochette do battle again after coming up against each other at Newbury last month. Clochette does look decent and was well-supported that day, held up and trouble in running before finishing strongly in second with Aunt Violet half a length back, fascinating to see them lock horns again, a race to watch I imagine.
17.40 Newmarket
We have a couple of winners already here with penalty's to make life more difficult. My tracker is the Archie Watson trained Manitou, the 40,000 gns Sioux Nation colt who made his debut at Ffos Las a few weeks back, well-supported that day in what I think was an alright race with one of my trackers Immortal Beauty just failing to get up. Manitou looked pretty professional and couldn't quite quicken at the end, any improvement should see him involved here and I'll be hoping to grab an each way price if I can.
It's a tough day and my best chance could be Manitou if I can grab an early each way price.
Thanks for reading and good luck.
