Trainers' Talk 2-Year-Olds - Charlie Fellowes

Great to see Charlie Fellowes' career going from strength to strength. He has kindly forward these two-year-old prospects. There will be plenty of winners from Bedford House Stables this new Flat turf season 2021.

ATRIUM

Holy Roman Emperor (IRE)

Hail Shower (IRE)

Purchased at the October Yearling Sales for 60,000gns and owned by Highclere Thoroughbred Racing - Pergola.

A half-brother to Mick Channon trained Milltown Star who won three times as a 2-year-old including the Listed Prix Herod at Chantilly.

Charlie’s view, “Nice well made colt. Strong. Looks like making into a 2-year-old.”

CASSIEL

Colt

Dark Angel (IRE)

Masaya (GB)

Purchased at the October Yearling Sales for 38,000gns and owned by Dahab Racing.

A full-brother to the excellent Roger Teal gelding Gussy Mac who won the Listed Dragon Stakes at Sandown easily before trying his luck in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes when finishing down the field.

Charlie’s view, “Small and strong. Looks like he should be ready early. Quick action and an out and out 2-Year-old.”

DOROTHEE

Filly

Equiano (GB)

Persario (GB)

Owned by Hot To Trot Racing and Elizabeth Grundy.

A full-sister to James Fanshawe trained The Tin Man who won multiple group races throughout his career including the Group 1 Champion Sprint Stakes at Ascot and also a half-sister to the brilliant Deacon Blues, another fantastic purchase for the Fanshawe team.

Charlie’s view, “Nice racey filly. Still immature but all the family improves with age. One for the second half of this year.”

MARTHA EDLIN

Intello (GER)

Tempest Fugit (IRE)

Purchased at the October Yearling Sales for 38,000gns and owned by Middleham Park Racing LXXV & Mr Darivas. Out of the John Gosden trained mare Tempest Fugit who won twice including the Listed River Eden Stakes at Lingfield in 2012, also a half-sister to the John Gosden trained Tiempo Vuela who won on her two-year-old debut at Newcastle in 2019.

Charlie’s view, “Nice middle distance type. Quite strong considering she should get better with age. Lovely mover. One for the 2nd half of the season.”

FRESH HOPE

Filly

New Approach (IRE)

Wiener Valkyrie (GB)

Owned by The Eclipse Partnership.

Charlie’s view, “Big scopey filly with a touch of class. Will be turned out in the spring. Hopefully a couple of runs at the end of the year.”

GRAND ALLIANCE

Colt

Churchill (IRE)

Endless Love (IRE)

Owned by Mrs Susan Roy. Out of unraced mare Endless Love but that hasn’t stopped her producing some nice offspring most notably Dutch Connection who was trained by Charlie Hills and won the Group 3 Acomb Stakes as a 2-year-old before going on to perform at a high level for the rest of his career.

Charlie’s view, ”Nice type but still very immature. Seems very straightforward but wouldn’t expect to see him until later on in the year.”

YOUNG ENDLESS

Colt

Champs Elysees (GB)

Eternity Ring (GB)

Owned by The Endless Acres Five. A full-brother to the Charlie Fellowes trained Endless Acres who ran to a decent level.

Charlie’s view, “Like his brother he is still very weak. Lovely mover and doesn’t find things hard but definitely one for the end of the year.”

COOKIES AND CREME

Filly

Siyouni (FR)

Coconut Creme (GB)

Owned by Normandie Stud Ltd.

Charlie’s view. “Nice filly. Strong and good size. Looks like she will be a 2yr old. Got a touch of class.” Thanks for reading and stay in the race for my next installment of Trainers Talk 2 Year Olds!

Thanks to Charlie for taking the time to forward this update and good luck to connections.
