10 George Scott 2yos for the 2021 Season (21st February)

It's great to see George and the Team doing so well since launching his career at the back end of 2015.

Eve Lodge Stables, Hamilton Road, Newmarket has seen a number of very talented thoroughbreds.

From our two-year-old pursuits, James Garfield proved his class when contesting the highest grade from 2017 - 2018.

In fact, a career spanning 14 starts saw him win twice at Group level (a number of narrow defeats, especially losing by a nose in the Acomb Stakes (Group 3) and half-length defeat when caught close home at Deauville, France, when runner-up in the Larc Prix Maurice de Gheest (Group 1).

James Garfield proved victorious in the Mill Reef Stakes (Group 2) and Greenham Stakes (Group 3).

For good measure, he contended the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, in the United States when a 13/2 shot, ridden by Frankie Dettori, beaten just over four lengths.

A stallion, he stands at Rathbarry Stud, Ireland.

Last year, George took his time to detail a number of two-year-old prospects which can be reviewed here: 10 George Scott's 2yos to follow in 2020.

Personally, I really enjoyed following Great Vibes, who won a very nice race at Newmarket on her third start, and contested the May Hill (Group 2) at Doncaster to conclude her formative season. This daughter of Showcasing is a great prospect for this three-year-old campaign.

Also, the very progressive Charlie Fellowes who raced 9 times at two, making his presence felt from an official rating of 68 to conclude the season on a mark of 89. This son of Swiss Spirit did the stable proud, especially the owners Offthebridle Podcast Syndicate. He cost just 18,000 euros as a yearling. This gelding is an impressive horse with size and scope to make into a pattern-race performer.

I can't wait to see this year's crop of two-year-olds.

I would like to thank George for taking the time to forward the following two-year-olds. He actually made an audio for us. It just goes to show he is not only a great trainer but a generous man who has time for even a little blog like ours.

So often in life, actions speak louder than words.

10 George Scott 2yos for the 2021 Season

MISTRIX - Vadamos filly, out of Plus Ca Change; she’s a tall imposing filly bred by Airlie Stud. She's only just joined us, but looks a lovely filly to start in seven furlong maidens in the early part of the summer and then train on to be a nice 3-year-old.

UNNAMED Dabirsim colt out of Akhmatova who is the second horse in the Offthebridle Podcast Syndicate who is a relative inexpensive purchase  costing 20,000gns. However, he's a gorgeous colt and he already looks the part. He's got speed on both sides of his pedigree and I will expect him to be ready to run in the late spring in median auction maidens.

CHANSON d’AMOUR Dark Angel filly out of Coral Mist. Coral Mist was a Group 3 winner when winning the Firth of Clyde, she's a neat, compact filly with a good shoulder and a good hip and looks a ready made 2-year-old. She won't be in the early-early brigade but she should be ready to run around the Guineas meeting.

EXCEEDINGLY SONIC Exceed and Excel filly out of Modify obviously I’m a big fan of Exceed And Excel as he is the sire of James Garfield, although this filly is a little bit light on the dam side she's a very, very good model she’s tall, scopey, athletic and has a fast ground action and I hope to have her ready to run this side of Ascot, she's owned by a chap called Mark Chan who has already had a lot of success internationally and we are delighted to have him as an owner in the yard.

CAPTAIN KANE - Ulysses colt out of Foundation Filly who was Listed placed and produced multiple winners. He's a good looking horse with plenty of depth and although he's got a more late maturing pedigree, he will end up running at two in the summer and then training on to be a lovely 3-year-old.

T MAXIE  We have got Charlie Fellowes' full-sister who is obviously by Swift Spirit out of Filatelia she's a solid filly that has only just joined us from Kildaragh Stud. I like her; she looks durable, straight forward and a good type of filly. She's taller than Charlie was at this stage; but I would hope she would make a late spring 2-year-old.

LOVE NEVER ENDING is out of Encore L'Amour and by Siyouni. She’s a lovely filly that we leased from Car Colston Hall Stud, she's got plenty of quality and looks a lovely middle distance prospect for the future.

HIGHLIGHTER is an Australia colt out of Cosmic fire, he's owned by the Niarchos Family and is a tall, scopey horse with an excellent attitude. He's got a nice loose walk to him and seems to have a brilliant mind and is a horse we like very much.

RUBELDIEKATZ out of For Henry who was Chachamaidee’s first foal, she's by Helmet, again she is a very durable filly with a nice attitude with plenty of bone and plenty of substance, she's got a great attitude, I’m very pleased with her.

TIMELAPSE is this Dark Angel filly owned by Niarchos out of Synchronic, a scopey, loose moving filly, who looks like she will want fast ground, she's a little on the weak side so I’m in no rush with her; but she's got everything in the right place and overall is a good type.

UNNAMED out of WHAZZAT being by Exceed and Excel she is a full sister to James Garfield. Similar to James; she's not overly big but got a wonderful attitude. Again, she came a bit late to us so she's slightly playing catch up, but everything she's done we are very pleased with. Overall, I am delighted with her.

Thanks to George for taking the time to forward this information. We wish the team every success this season.
