Armando Duarte With His Plans For 2021

Craigsbettingblog has gone from strength to strength since it began a few years back, and I am hoping next year won’t be any different with plenty of trainers and guest posts lined up to keep readers engaged in the sport we all love. First off Bloodstock Agent Armando Duarte has kindly given me an update on his plans for this year.

Armando Duarte says:

Regarding MMSTABLES we had a great season last year. I hope it continues for 2021. We sold a few last year, but we still have some unraced 3-year-olds to go to war with in 2021. We also bought only one yearling this year, it was thought this year to buy the right one as it is every year but it wasn't for the lack of trying because we try hard to buy even more for expensive ones but no luck. We bought a Camacho for 77 grand, a half-brother to two stakes horses at book 1 tatts. He is not named or decided which trainer he goes to, but he looks very nice at the moment and doing everything easy. I hope he can become a Royal Ascot horse.

Regarding the 3-year-olds I am very excited by ALENQUER, he ran twice last year and won his Maiden at Newbury and then finished second at Haydock in a Listed race, rated 99, so he could be anything this year with any improvement. He is back at William Haggas so let’s hope he progresses well. Also, Landing System, ran twice last year and showed enough ability to compete this year. He is a massive raw horse with plenty of improvement left in him, and he will go back to Andrew Balding in March. Also a 3-year-old by Starspangledbanner colt unraced and in training with William Haggas. He was too weak to run last year, and he liked him enough to persevere. He could be anything. I also have a Vadamos colt unraced, he showed ability at Andrew Baldings in his work but was on the weak side to run him. Andrew Balding liked him enough to keep going with him too. He will go back to him in March, so let’s hope he can do something before the end of the season. I also have to mention the horses I bought private and at Tattersalls horses in training for Australia In conjunction with a good friend of mine and a good bloodstock agent in Paul Moroney, we bought Dashing Willoughby private to race in Australia, he ran this year in the Melbourne Cup but didn’t acclimatize well-enough to run well. Also I bought three horses at tatts, Keats for 200 grand, Emissary for 350 grand and English King for 925 grand. I hope these horses will be lucky for the connections at Ballymore Stables in Australia, and I am sure they can compete at the highest level and win races. Thanks to Armando Duarte for kindly giving his time.

Thanks for reading, stay safe and have a Happy New Year.
