Charlie Appleby: Winner after Winner (8th August)

The season is well and truly in full swing and like every season Charlie Appleby 2-year-olds have been in outstanding form with winner after winner.

CREATIVE FORCE started the ball rolling with a comfortable win at Newmarket back in June. The Dubawi colt was a 400,000 euro purchase at the 2019 Orby sales. Creative Force failed to build on his debut run when finishing down the field in the Coventry Stakes at Ascot.

MODERN NEWS the Sharmadal colt also started his career at Newmarket when beating another Charlie Appleby trained colt Nobel Dynasty in a hot maiden back in June. A couple of decent efforts followed and still has more to come.

MASTER OF THE SEAS another homebred from the all-conquering boys in blue. The Dubawi bay colt looks a seriously useful sort after winning both his races to date, first was at Newmarket when the lesser fancied of the Godolphin pair, according to the betting anyway. Master Of The Seas only had to be kept up to his work by Brett Doyle to win by just under a length. Next start saw him contest the Group 2 Superlative Stakes at Newmarket and Master Of The Seas put in another professional display to beat the Tom Dascombe trained colt Devious Company who himself looks a lovely horse for the Manor House Stables. Master Of The Seas has an entry for the Group 1 Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at Curragh in September and looks to have a great chance to make it Charlie Appleby’s third win on the bounce after Quorto won in 2018 following the same path as Master Of The Seas with a Newmarket Novice Stakes win and then going onto win the Group 2 Superlative Stakes. Last year the brilliant Pinatubo went unbeaten as a 2-year-old and added the Group 1 Vincent O’Brien National Stakes to a list of Group wins with an explosive turn of foot to win easily.

WEDDING DANCE was a 600,000 gns purchase at the 2019 October Yearling Sales and broke her maiden second time of asking at Newmarket then lost nothing in defeat when traveling to France and finishing second in the Group 3 Prix Six Perfections at Deauville.

MISS JINGLES finished down the field on her debut at Newmarket but has since won twice including a class 2 Stakes race at Goodwood last timeout.

DHAHABI came with a big reputation and even bigger price tag, a whopping 3.100,000 gns in fact. The Frankel colt was made 15/8 favourite for his eagerly anticipated debut at Newmarket last month and backers had a few heart-stopping moments when the Richard Hughes trained Dinoo finished like a rocket and nearly caused a 50/1 shock. Looking forward to how Dhahabi looks next timeout and to see how much he has improved over the past few weeks or so.

DANILOVA another Newmarket winner this time second timeout and runs in the Sweet Solera Stakes today. YIBIR, CLOUDBRIDGE, and NASH NASHA have made it a great start to August and hopefully, the next two can start their careers off in nice fashion in the near future.

DIVINE LIGHT is a well-thought-of Kingman filly born on the 24th February 2018. A 370,000 gns purchase and a half-sister to the Charlie Appleby trained Viren’s Army who was rated 111.

NEW KINGDOM is the next Charlie Appleby horse I will be looking out for this season. The 700,000 gns purchase could be a nice colt for the boys in blue this season. Born March 10th 2018 the Chestnut colt is a full brother to the Charlie Appleby superstar Ghaiyyath who has an official rating of 126 with a string of group wins to his name. Really hope the Dubawi colt is the real deal and keep the Appleby bandwagon rolling on.

Thanks for reading and stay safe.
