Charlie Fellowes' 2yos to Follow in 2020

Charlie Fellowes kindly talks through a few two-year-olds in his yard for the season ahead.

DEPUTY is a bay colt by Lawman (FR) out of Finagle (IRE) and owned by the Philip Blacker Syndicate. A £33,000 purchase out of unraced mare Finagle, his half-sister Nurse Barbra is 101 rated after three promising runs for Ger Lyons last season.

Charlie's view: ''A nice horse and should be one of my first 2yr olds to run. Good attitude and looks like a nice type.''

ANGEL AMADEA is a grey filly by Dark Angel (IRE) out of Keene Dancer (GB) and owned by Graham Smith-Bernal. A £55,000 purchase out of the previously owned Michael Stoute Keene Dancer who won a couple of times in average races over a mile in 2012.

Charlie's view: ''Very immature but has a lovely way of going. She has been turned out to grass but all her homework before then had been eye-catching. One for the end of the year.''

An UNNAMED chestnut colt by NIGHT OF THUNDER (IRE) out of MATHANORA (IRE). The colt was purchased for 85,000 gns and is owned by Mr Mohamed Obaida.

Charlie's view: ''Probably my pick of the colts. Lovely big athletic type. Very straightforward and his routine work has been lovely. One for the 2nd half of the season.''

JUSTICIALISM bay colt by VADAMOS (FR) out of unraced PERONISM (USA). The colt was purchased for 60,000 gns and is owned by Mr. Mohamed Obaida.

Charlie's view: ''Good looking colt but big and backward. Would be the type to have a couple of runs at the end of the year but should make a nice 3yr old.''

GEORGE SCOTT (IRE) is a bay colt by Zoffany (IRE) out of African Plains (GB). The colt was purchased for 20,000 gns at the October Sales last year and is owned by Offthebridle Podcast. Had to put this one in with a great name like this!

Charlie's view: ''Very good looking and his work has been nice. Has developed a habit of going up on his hind legs recently so is going to be gelded tomorrow. Carries a lot of condition but I like him.''

SHERRY BABY (IRE) is a bay filly by Nathaniel (IRE) out of Disclose (GB). The filly is owned by Mrs. Susan Roy and is a half-sister to the 102 rated Hugo Palmer gelding Encrypted who won the Golden Rose Listed Stakes at Lingfield in 2018.

Charlie's view: ''Not moved to my yard yet as she has been in pre-training. Very immature from what I have been told and would be one for the end of the year.''

TALLULAH (IRE) chestnut filly by Sea The Stars (IRE) out of Ninas Terz (GB). The filly is owned by Mrs. Susan Roy and a sister to the Roger Charlton filly Fashion’s Star.

Charlies View: ''Another very immature filly. Again this one hasn’t been to my yard yet but she is in Newmarket so I have seen her a few times. Lots of quality but wouldn’t be a surprise if she didn’t run this year.''

WANNABE SAFE (IRE) is a bay filly by Oasis Dream (GB) out of Wannabe Posh (IRE) and owned and bred by Normandie Stud Ltd.

Charlie's view: ''Very attractive filly with lots of quality. It should be sharp but won't be early. Has been turned out for a holiday and will come back in once we know more about the resumption of racing. Like her a lot.''

FIRST CONNECTION (FR) is a chestnut colt by Gleneagles (IRE) out of Vendetta (IRE) and owned by Mrs. Susan Roy.

Charlie's view: ''A Gleneagles colt who seems to go nicely. Still very narrow and immature, but a lovely mover and finds everything pretty easy. One for the end of the year.''

Vadream filly by Brazen beau (AUS) out of HER HONOUR (IRE) and owned by Mr. D.R.J. King.

Charlie's view: ''Probably be my first 2yo runner if everything goes to plan. Strong, well-made filly with lots of quality. She is as quick as any 2yr old filly I have ever had (wouldn't be a long list!).''

First Prophet bay colt by NEW BAY (GB) out of LUS GREINE (IRE).

Charlie's view: ''An attractive colt from the first crop of New Bay. Along with the Night of Thunder he has been catching my eye the most. It should be a midseason 2yr old type and looks nice at this stage.''
